Advanced Dwemer constructing and Smithing Make it truly happ

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 11:17 pm

I was on Nexus skyrim website lastnight to find some mods to add to the game when all of the sudden I came across this one particular mod that made me say WOW! The mod is called http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10442 and essentially it's an advanced smithing technique that gives you the an addition features using parts of the Dwemer gadgets that you generally find in Dwemer dungeons. Not only can you build yourself Dwemer armor and weapons, but also build yourself an army of robotic soldiers to fight beside of you ranging from Dwemer Spiders all the way to the tough ones like the Dwemer Centurion. All which can be upgraded if you have an additional smithing perk plus a special quest that is hard to do.

This would potentially make the future of the game a bit more interesting... that means more time dealing with Calcelmo from Markarth with many new additional quests (Long ones that is, not just simple easy task). It will also give us some educational insights on what actually happen to the Dwemers.

I think there's a mod for that out actually, why do we need BGS to do anything?

Because not everyone is on a PC and/or uses mods. Plus, any mod about the disappearance of the Dwemer would be speculation instead of what may be intended by the devs.

Because if Beth puts it into the game it becomes part of the story. You see using a mod is like watching a japanese anime filler. Although it's present... it generally does not exist in the story. I would like to learn more about the Dwemer and for those who like smithing, using magic and enhancements could benefit a lot from these additional features.

As what buckom says not everyone could mod their games like us PC users can.

Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRrpSVzTmaw to learn more about this mod as it could excite many Skyrim players if this was added to the game with many additional new quests regarding to the Dwemer.

I'll pass thanks. I have ZERO interest in that sort of stuff. There again, though.... I never buy DLCs, so I guess y'all can jones for Beth doing this, and it won't affect me at all.

I used "Robocertified" for Fallout 3 and it made sense.
I think expanding the usefulness of Dwemer scrap metal is a great addition to smithing but...
Despite the brilliance of Dwemer certified, I just can't seem to get into robotics as part of Skyrim.
But that is what modding is all about. Some things appeal to a subset of players, like god items and cheats, some things are cool but not lore friendly, some things fit right into the game like they should have been in the vanila game. Choose to download and use or choose to ignore. Its up to you.

In the future of skyrim as far as the civil war goes I can find it very useful to bring the Dwemer robots into the war against the Thalmor. evidently seeing that the thalmor are a lot powerful then both parties (Imperials and Stormcloaks) however by adding in an additional tool like the knowledge of the Dwemer could potentially help a great deal to win the war against the Thalmor.

Maybe its a fanfiction side of me but this would be a great addition. To use the technology of the Dwemer to win the war would be truly amazing.

Because if BGS does it, there'll be a ton of bugs?

No wait, that's why we don't want them to do it.

Thats why they need to fire their amature scripting staffs (I know this may sound harsh but what else is there to blame for the excessive bugs in this game?!??!) and hire on ones that actually know a thing or 2 about scripting. Fans that enjoys the game mod because they want to improve it. They work extra hard without thinking about the money that they can make. They do it out of compassion.

I think it goes a little beyond scripting - this is more of a coding job, but we get what you mean. :P

Well, I guess all you folks that think you could do better should show up at Beth's offices and tell them how MUCH better you could do than they have.

You seem more sympathetic towards them then angry. If I become a car salesman can you come to my office so I can purposely sell you a broken car? No I don't proclaim that I can do a better job because I'm not a programmer. I don't know much about coding and scripting therefor it would be like another language that I can't understand. Why should I spend a wad loads of money to take a plane trip from my destination to the main headquarters of Beths office just to tell them that their game is broken, and not but least boring when I can do it at the comfort of my own home? I'm sure that's why Beth made forums like this so people can voice their opinions about the products that they sell. It is Beths responsibility to read peoples posts such as mine so they can learn what their fans want and desire.

I am grateful to hear that you never came across a serious glitch that requires creating a new character. It happen to me quite a few times, and my characters was pretty high in the level.

I haven't had ANY glitches in this game. I have made and played around 50 toons now, since release. NOT ONE of them has come across a game-destroying anything. But even if that had happened to me, I would NOT be pontificating on this forum about how bad this game is. If the game is that bad, DON'T PLAY IT. Jeez louise.

Seconded. Have experienced hardly ANY glitches/bugs in the game.
Also, I find the dialogue and storylines to be more than adequate.

So this went from "hey check out this cool Dwemer mod" to "Bethesda is like a car salesman selling you a broken car?"

A broken car that's missing a large decorative dwemer strut. :D

Yeah... with all due respect to the console crowd, this idea makes more sense as a mod than a game feature.

I personally would love to buy this in a Dwemer expansion pack or something, maybe have a portal to go to where the Dwemer all ended up after they "vanished" and explore that place or something like Shivering Isles.

Plenty of mods are pretty entertaining but game-breaking. Also, a little bit crazy.
An army of robots? Yeah, okay. Suddenly my hammer & anvil has the same cultural wisdom of an extinct, advanced society. That makes sense.

Besides, if updates and patches are always sitting on the backburner, do you really expect something useful to just "show up" ?
