Advice on first high level thief build

Post » Tue Jul 10, 2012 7:50 pm

I have never gotten any pure stealth characters to a very high level before and was looking for some tips and stuff. also good quests and to do and items to get in early levels. and dont worry about spoilers as ive already completed most of the quests with multiple other characters.

here is the build: http://skyrimcalculator.com/#154742

I've never found any need for Lockpicking perks; although it appears you were just going for the cash option. :P If you're in the TG proper you'll make more than enough by having Fences in all the major cities and wouldn't need the Golden Touch. I've always found so much stuff by default I don't know how useful Treasure Hunter would be. Of course, I like the bonus from No Stone Unturned and a lot of people complain that that's overkill.

You chose Shadow Warrior - good move - I f-ing love that perk; it's description doesn't do it justice. Why didn't you select Assassin's Blade? ...too much? :P A lot of people say it's OP. To which I reply: "And?"

If you are aiming for late game Theif don't worry about lock picking perks at all. They are completely worthless late game because when you hit higher levels every almost every draugr you face with be a deathlord and they all carry ebony weapons that sell for 1000+.

Its gotten to the point where if i run out of money i go like :glare: go into the nearest draugr ruin, pick up 10+ ebony weapons and go on a selling spree with the thieves guild.

I have a habit of making characters and then exploiting the Oghma Infinium to see what certain archetypes would ideally look like at x level.

Here's a theif build I made for roleplaying purposes - master difficulty for the sake of challenge.

Oh yeah, and as for my choice of standing stone: the Tower Stone. It may sound hypocritical because I use the game-breaking exploit, but I do prefer the game retains some challenge. The Tower Stone doesn't directly help you in any way, but if you find yourself short on picks or frustrated with a certain Expert lock, then it's just an easy pick.

Dude... no offense but if you played this game for more than 15 hours and don't know how to use a pick properly that is really really sad.
(unless you are on a console and have a crappy controller then thats really not your fault)
