What kind of magic? If your talking about destruction, make sure to invest in perks. And just keep using it again and again

Take enchanting to improve your magica regeneration or decrease spell cost. http://www.gamersheroes.com/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-fast-leveling-guide just googled leveling guide, not sure if this will help.

Destruction levels from damage done, conjuration levels from either using soul trap(can raise it pretty fast) or from having summons in combat, alteration and illusion on based on usage(can raise fast since you only need to cast it to get it up) and enchant can be raised from disenchanting or enchanting items. Not sure about restoration but I assume it is based on health restored with healing spells and use of the other spells in the school.

Oh the bound bow! Do you have Mage robes? And if you want to be able to use that take the first perk in conjuration and you should be able to use it

in addition to this you can use enchanting to place magicka enchantments on armor.

well than you really only have to put more into magickia and you should be fine. Wasn't sure if you were a high level and having trouble with low magicka.

if you don't mind being a little unlegit you can get soul trap and keep casting it on a dead body, should get you a few levels.

To level it up?

1. Take Mage stone.

2. If you're leveling Alteration, Spam Telekinesis, Detect Life in a crowded area, and use Equilibrium with the basic healing spell(raises Restoration as well).

3. If you're leveling Conjuration. Cast Soul Trap on a dead body over, and over.

4. If you're leveling Illusion. Cast Muffle, over, and over.

5. If you're leveling Destruction. Buy a Horse, and keep attacking it.

6. If you're leveling Restoration use the equilibrium trick, or heal the Horse you're attacking.

wouldn't number 5 kill the horse or make it hostile? Never actually thought to attack my own horse.

Shadowmere can take it like a boss.
One of the ways to gain a crapton of Magicka Regen for spell spam training, is doing the "Out of Balance" quest for Drevis Neloren, and equipping the Mystic Tuning Gloves near the Mystic Focus Points. That right there should give you basically unlimited Magicka for spell spamming for 2 hours. Besides a few exceptions (Muffle, Soul Trap), generally, the higher the expertise rating required for a spell, the more skill experience it'll gain towards that spell school.

Nope. The Horse will stay passive. Just make sure you don't over do it, and kill the poor thing.

Just use weak spells. Horses have a lot of health.

Go through the college quest line and get the Archmage Robes. They are very nice with 15% less Magicka to cast on all schools, +50 Magicka, and 100% regen on Magicka. You can also look for clothing items for the particular school of magic you use the most. Something like a Circlet of Destruction will reduce the cast cost for all destruction spells. How much depends on the quality of the circlet with 15% being the lowest and 25% being the highest on a peerless circlet that can be obtained at level 40 or higher. Of course you'll only see lower level gear now at your level but anything helps as it cuts the cost to cast saving you a lot of magicka. Doing that you'll find that at some point you can start putting points into health or stamina instead of pumping it all into Magicka. You can have magicka reduction on several pieces at the same time. It's one of the most valuable enchants for a mage. The clothing shop in Solitude is one of the better places to purchase these items.
