Advice in reaching the armour cap

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 2:12 pm

Hello everyone, I was wondering what would the best way (perk wise) to reach the heavy armour cap? I already have my smithing at 100 with perks going up the right side (heavy armour side) of the smithing tree, and my enchanting is 78 with a few points going down the middle of the tree. My heavy armour is at 88 with all the perks in the tree except for the last one on the top right (reflect dmg perk). Are there any other perks i need in the other trees to get to the heavy armour cap? Like Alchemy?

Thanks :)

If you've got all the perks in Heavy Armour and in Smithing, then you should hit the damage reduction cap with a full set (armour + helmet + gauntlets + boots) of fully tempered Steel Plate armour.

For heavy armor I would recommend you'd use your perks on "Juggernaut" and "Well Fitted" only. If you want to go up to a very high damage resistance then I recommend you increase your Alchemy, Enchanting, and Smithing. Remember that you can create a Fortify Enchantment potion with alchemy and use that to enchant. You can enchant up to 4 items to increase your Alchemy or Enchanting skills. I think for alchemy you can enchant a Head gear, a Hand gear, a ring, and a necklace. For smithing you can enchant a Head gear, a Chest gear, a ring, and a necklace.
