After 300 hours

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 10:56 am

I think i've finally squeezed out every bit of juice Skyrim has to offer. I play on console so i don't have mods to accommodate me but i wish there was something new in the game i could do to bring me back. Can't say i didn't enjoy it though, well worth the $60. I'm just waiting on DLC now to bring back that excitement i got when i played it for the first time. There was just so much to do in the game and i enjoyed it so much, but making a new character doesn't change much of the game for me. I still remember like every misc, side, and main quest in the game haha so running it through with another character doesn't make it any better. But hey, 300 hours? I can't complain. Great game.

I agree with you. Im pretty sure I have more than 300 hours logged (havent checked) between the several toons I have and just loved every minute of it. Although can only do Thieves Guild quest once, but can do Dark Brotherhood over and over and over I loved it so much. But yeah, DLC for consoles would squeeze even more life out of this game as I think I may be just about done with it.

wow...300 hours on one character on console? Yes I agree, you've squeezed the most out of what you can do in Skyrim with that character. I barely made it past 100 hours before I retired my first character.

Edit: I also agree that Skyrim was well worth the money. 100 to 300 hours worth of gameplay for 55 bucks was a legit deal in my books :D

Which is why I hope DLC focuses on new quests with solid story lines. I don't really need new features or loot, just more story.

Amazing,I have played over 300 hours but not with one character.
And i play on console too  But i have alot of stuff to do with one character soo.
But Expansions are going to be awesome. So just wait my friend,Play morrowind or oblivion or other games. Or start to create your own quest. Like chop of every imperials heads and take it to your house
nah just joking but creating your own quest are amazing, did that all the time in oblivion.
Right now i am moving from markarth to whiterun since whiterun fits my character the best ( i am also a harbringer)
And i dont know i feel home there.A bigger house would be nice but,its cosy.

Proudspire manor is big but once you decorate to your tastes then it becomes quite cosy.

Play on master from the start ok? Then... take frequent breaks, make the next playthrough last long. but I reccomend searching for a skyrim walkthrough playlist on youtube, his name is Culveyhouse.

Maybe I am easily entertained. So many people claim Skyrim is boring, or becomes boring after one chracter. I have done 2 of what I consider a full playthrough (usually +150 hours). I am on my third playthrough and I keep coming back for more. I roleplay, give my character certain restrictions, explore and I don't usually fast travel. Also, based on my archetype I do things in a different order. I don't know, but I am not bored of Skyrim at all, and I play on console.

Played 200 hours on 2 characters and I haven't really started yet. First character was a test run, to just play it for a bit to see what I would like to properly play as. 2nd character is Roleplaying character :D

I'm the same way, I think thats why I manage to clock soooo many hours on each character. I have only completed the main quest once as a tank should be interesting doen it as a archer.

I feel i'm not even close and I'm on console, I'm sure I have more than 300 hours.
Squeezing the juice out of everything Skyrim has to offer doesn't mean to me doing every quest, getting every perk, and getting to max level,
to me it's - hearing every single little peace of dialogue each NPC has, exploring every single inch of the world, finding unique ways to do things, trying things in different combinations O.o
which usually ends in finding out really fun but petty glitches :D
When I used this method on Oblivion (Had that on Console too), I ended with my Khajiit at level 70, had some spell that inverted me, a Unicorn in my house, a Clone of myself standing outside that hated me, a lot of other weird useless but fun spells I made, Collected every color of Hood (Had to steal M'aiqs and S'drassa's), and filled a house full of water melons :D
lol, but i'm pretty sure all of that is impossible in Skyrim (On Console), but i'll find out what I can do :)

Look at it this way, in most colleges you could finish two years of calculus by taking about 250 hours of classes give or take 10 or so. 300 hours is a huge amount of time. An entire Batchelor's Degree is about 7000 hours. You're about 5% the way through it!

Edit: off by factor of 4... dang 4 unit classes! closer to 1400 hours for a BS.

So your tellen me that the 790+ hours I've put into this game is roughly 1/2 the time it takes to get a batchelors degree?? HOLY FRACK BATMAN!!!!!!!

(( Just do tell the wife!!!!! ))

Steam tells me I've played Skyrim for 647 hours. I haven't done everything yet. I've played 2 fighter-types...2 handed and sword and shield. I liked sword an shield the best, because shield bash is fun.

I've played 2 robe wearing, no weapon skill mage type characters. The hardest one went full-on destruction magic. That was most frustrating. It is weak. But that makes it fun. Illusion is powerful, and was also fun. But eventually, I could just cast "Harmony" and nothing attacked me ever. I could just walk up to the enemies. Jump on top of them and bounce up and down. They don't care. Just walk past them, un stealthed and take the objective. And, believe it or not, this was also fun!

I played 2 light armor thief types. 1 with archery, 1 with only daggers. Daggers is kind of frustrating, because 1 handed skill never raises from using daggers. You have to train it with gold. But getting gold isn't much of a problem really. Archery seems a bit over-powered by comparison. But it was loads of fun too!

Try everything that you CAN do, with as many different character builds as you can think of. Don't try to think of a build that maximizes your character's ability...that is easy, and just leads to eventual boredom. Think of ways to make it harder...rather than just setting it to "Master" level. Because even that will quickly become too easy, as you min-max your character build.

Also , get a PC. I don't use console devices because they just aren't as flexible as PCs.

I put in a couple of hundred hours on 2 characters in December/January ... then "hit the wall" and had to take a break.

Played KoA for a couple of weeks, then "hit the wall" with that as well. Tried a couple of other games then fired up another character in Skyrim and have put it quite a few hours on him since.

Funny thing with my latest (now level 36) character is that I haven't fast travelled at all... which I did to various extents with the first couple of characters ... and haven't felt any desire to do so.

Just wandering around Skyrim doing a miscellaneous quest here and there and enjoying myself.

I've done 851 hrs over five characters. Two of those are main quest complete and await DLC. My current character has just the last few quests in the MQ, then she'll be waiting for DLC too. The other two are lvls 20 and 30-something and still have a way to go.

I also have five characters in the xbox cloud that are only just past character creation. I would guess I'm halfway thru doing what I want to do in Skyrim. There's still a lot of dungeons I haven't entered , and I haven't even made a thief-like character yet or joined the thieves guild.

125 hours into my latest character and I haven't done any guild quests (aside from fixing Cicero's wagon) and have not proceeded past meeting the Greybeards. Still have a lot to do. Most of my hours was training and leveling up to the max level to see if I am up for playing on Master without perks.
