Let's not forget that are other insane factions.If the Thalmor sucefully anylate the empire they would be too weak for another strike,Ulfric could rebel agaisn't them,the Falmor could rise,Tosh raka could invade,Shegorath makes rain "giant cheese" and blah blah blah..

Not because he does not care but simply because he's not a Nord so he doesn't care much that you're dragon born and besides, your actions have showed that you can take care of yourself in a situation like that. Nope, he would probably take bets on how long they could hold you before you escaped and killed them all. No more that 10 minutes would be my bet, seeing as my thief has 100 in Sneak, Archery, Pick Pocket and Illusion. Simply pick the cell door with the obligatory lockpick all prisoners must get, go invisible and find a bow. Then sit in the shadows picking them off one by one. Mwahahaha.
