... to Windhelm to buy Hjerim, but still no go (after all i done for them) so i accepted the (again) Bonestrewn Crest Dragon bounty to see if he could fly forward and what do you know, he was! but wait... after i slain him, he didn't gave me his soul (he doesn't even burn to ash) which i had never experienced until now... so thank you very much Bethesda :rolleyes:

Oh for Christs sake. That took you how long, ten minutes, to download/play/complain? Get a grip. See if it's fixed any of the problems which are actually a big deal before you start whining.

Any dragons that respawn at word walls only give souls once. Which is to say, only the first time you slay that word wall's dragon guardian.

Some people believe this is a balancing mechanic. I think those some people need to think that through a bit better. Why not just have those dragons not respawn? Instead of make the player think his game glitched up because the dragon did not behave as advertised.

Yeah Bonestrewn Crest Dragon is totally busted with the current patch, even on a new character. There's a couple others as well, no souls no matter what.

I've seen the idea going around that you can only get the soul for the first dragon you kill at a location, but that is false. And it doesn't make any sense, it's a different dragon. They're just broken.

"You cant farm Dragon Souls" is just misinformation.

The issue then becomes what if the player, not knowing they are important, discards/sells the dragon bones and scales, and realizes later they need to kill more dragons for armor?

Can't have the dragons just not spawn anymore. And if you NEED to kill a dragon, you know there will be one at the word wall, instead of just travelling around hoping one pops up.

I can confirm that word wall dragons do not give souls after their first "death". Your alternative is good and I will add that all the word wall dragons should have had unique names. I believe it adds significance, as opposed to the seemingly random dragons with unique names. There's a whole bunch, unrelated to quests, just flying around out there. They don't even have unique loot and only one has unique circumstances.

I agree, or at least if they are gonna respawn, to not give you any scales or bones.

yes i too have dragon souls and nothing to use them on
and that issue of a dragon not giving his soul was always like that
after i killed the dragon and went back i never got his soul the second time/ at the word walls that is and
that was that way before any patch now idf a second dragon came.. i got that soul but not fun fighting multiple
dragons
but
now i have too many souls and
nothing to complain about

I was able to do Blood on the Ice when I created a new character after 1.2 came out. If you're trying it on an old character, it may not work.

I disagree. What would be better is if they were scaled from level 40-80. They are dragons, after all. A regular dragon being killed at level 10? Lame.
I don't see why you can't just keep stealing infinite souls, and use them to recharge items if you already have all the shouts you need.

It would make sense as the dragons at the Word Walls would be the old dragons that have been around for long enough to develop a soul. Perhaps their soul is created from all the souls of those they kill. I dunno.

To me, Dragon Souls should be rare, after all, you only need 60 of them for all the Shouts, what purpose do they serve after that? Then again, dragons should not be re-spawning after the MQ, but that is just my opinion. I don't think they should go away after the MQ, but once killed, they don't come back. So, start the game with 60 dragons total that can appear, once that counter decrements, they don't come back. No, I don't mean all 60 are in the game from the get go, but we only get to find and kill 60, or so, of them. Again, just my opinion.
