After releasing an unplayable game yous owe us some informat

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:45 am

Thats all I ask. I bought this game on day 1 and lived through the patching process only to have the freezing issues remain on the PS3, now I think it's time you's release some info on DLC for other platforms. After all remember you's released the exclusive DLC information 2 days prior to the game launching in stores when people had there hearts set on buying the game and yous said more info reguarding other platforms would be released in the next coming weeks. Yous owe us big time Bethesda.

Link to the Exclusive DLC thread were yous said the above info is right here....... http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1121886-dlc-exclusive/

They can't tell us anything about releasing the DLC to other platforms until after the contract with Microsoft is finished.

Furthermore, Bethesda only signs the checks, the real creators are OBSIDIAN. THEY'RE the ones you should be angry at- it's effectively their game.

Do you have something better to do than antagonize PC/PS3 players?

But seriously, there are tons of people begging begging Bethesda to take their money, does Microsoft pay that much?

My comment had nothing to do with his platform of choice.

As I've said before, [censored] Bethesda Softworks. I refuse to still buy this DLC as a begging dog after they've done this to me twice, in the past.

The game was not unplayable at launch, however it was pretty buggy. Just because Bethesda has lied at this point doesn't mean we have to in our repudiation of their behavior. And yes, they have lied -- or at least seriously misled -- their PC and PS3 customer base by claiming we'd be informed of what the DLC schedule would be like in the weeks following the game.

Is it technically still "weeks" follow the game? Yes. But it will always be so. At this point it has been over 2 months since FNV's release, Xbox 360 got Dead Money, and we still have no clue whatsoever when the PS3 and PC DLCs will be released -- if ever.

It was crappy of Bethesda to wait til the very end of the launch window to notify us that they would have DLC exclusivity, it was crappy of them to claim they would be telling us shortly then wait months to do so, and it was crappy of them to ever agree to have DLC exclusivity to begin with. All of that on the heels of the way PS3 users were treated with Oblivion and Fallout 3, we are definitely owed some attention and disclosing of information.

Treating 2 of the 3 platforms your game is on this way is a great way to alienate future customers, especially when your company didn't even make the game (Obsidian did), and you're merely playing gatekeeper on the basis of Intellectual Property rights.

I'm rapidly losing respect for Zenimax media as a whole, which before FNV's launch, I thought was going to grow to be a publishing group that rivals the likes of EA and Activision, but without all of the drama and overt greed. Thanks for proving me wrong Bethesda.

It's all about money. That's understandable, they are a business after all, but Xbox exclusives don't make as much money as cross-platform games of the same caliber, even with Microsoft's "charitable contributions." They're shooting themselves in the foot over partnering up with Xbox and they don't even know it.

They probably ran projects based on numbers of DLC sales and such on Fallout 3 and determined the Microsoft thing was a good deal, but what they fail to take into account is that they screwed us on FO3 too, so if the sales were especially poor, it probably reflected that, not the fact that there aren't plenty of consumers to sell their product to here.

The bottom line is, this is a decision which hurts consumers of two of the three platforms and really only benefits (and questionably at that -- it's quite possible that Bethesda's decisions hurt FNV sales and will hurt the potential DLC sales enough to counterbalance the MS money) the two companies involved. Deep down every consumer knows that businesses exist primarily to make money. I have no illusions about their intent. However, a good business never reminds their customers of that.

This is a massive failure on Bethesda's part, and if Obsidian did indeed have zero say in this (and I believe this to be the case), they're another victim.

I'm a little disapointed in both Bethesda Softworks and Obsidian on this matter. I just think if your gonna release a game for 3 different consoles and then have DLC for one of them then you have to have it for all 3. If the reason why they didn't release it for the PC because you could use the console to remove the explosion collar then why didn't they come out with that info in the 1st place and if the PS3 isn't compatable with the DLC then why haven't they said that.

Thats one of my big problems with this is that both parties have been pretty quiet about this issue. They really haven't talked about it or said anything like hey we're gonna release it sometime early 2011 because we're having problems adapting it to the PS3 or PC. They really need to give us an answer hopefully soon. I have the 360 so its not a problem for me but I really think the PS3 got shafted big time. Even though the PC users can mod their games they too deserve some form of an answer. I still support both companies and I will continue to do so but this isn't a smart business decision at all.

Odds are Bethesda entered into a contractual agreement with Microsoft which contains a non disclosure agreement meaning they can't say anything. It happened with fallout 3 so I wasn't that suprised it happened with new vegas. I just hope it won't be the 4-6 month wait it was last time but that depends on the contract. And for those wishing to blame some on it's either Bethesda or Zeni Max's fault Obsidion doesn't have the power to enter into a legaly binding contract on Bethesda behalf so if Bethesda didn't their parent company Zeni Max did. I'll still buy all the dlc depending on reviews of course but it does piss me off that ps3 always gets shafted by Bethesda.

Pc people quit whining in a few days someone will have modded the 360 version to work on pc so you can still get it now and pay for it later.

The game was not "unplayable" at launch. It could be very annoying/stressful/difficult to play at times, but I laugh at the idea of it being "unplayable".

You are not owed anything. You payed an agreed upon sum of money for a completed product. Errors with the product were later fixed for free, though I would agree you were owed that.

You will get the DLC eventually. If you weren't Microsoft would be advertising the hell out of the fact that Dead Money will only be available for xbox. EVER!. Christmas is too close for them not to, if they could.

Bethesda can't give you any information about when it will be released to you, because that would be in violation of their contract.

Of course they owe the PS3/PC players an explanation on why we can't have the same experience as the 360.

To the people saying they don't owe us anything, how about you wait 6 months with the PS3/PC players for the DLC, and see how you feel....

You're not really aware of much are you? The link pretty much confirms they are saying that. Do you see a PS3/PC logo anywhere near that advert?
