Hey everyone,

I’ve put together 5 links which should help ease the burden on choosing a starting race (And for your 2nd and 3rd characters )
I could read about this game all day.
I hope this gives people more of an idea on what they are going to start with in this amazing adventure.
What is everyone planning on starting out as? I need some ideas. I know I want to use a bow, it just seems like great fun in Skyrim.

What race does everything think is best for using single handed weapons with a shield AND a bow?
Light or heavy armor?
Any magic at all?

Khajit or Redguard imo. Rest depends on you. i'd go for light armor with maybe a bit of illusion or alteration magic.

So my question lies in that now only strength, stamina, and magicka are the only stats upgradeable. Unlike Oblivion where you had to take intelligence, willpower, etc... my question lies in that if I pick an Orc, will he not be as good at conjuration then a breton. In past games such as Oblivion, if you wanted to be a true successful mage, you had to choose either high elf or breton as they had the most magicka pool.

In Skyrim, it will actually be easier to level up anything you'd like, as long as you use it.
So, as an orc, just start using conjuration early and it should be simple from there on out.
The main difference between races is only the starting stats and race abilities (the abilities barely even make any difference)
So if a race starts with +10 in conjuration, but conjuration is never used, you Orc will be better at conjuration after leveling the skill 11 times.
Magik will increase as long as you choose to level up your magika upon leveling your character

I actually prefer this way than previous elder scrolls. I'm all for unique and hardcoe, but the fact is I always wanted to create a witty battlemage orc type and it was quite difficult in oblivion without mods or cheats.

I prefer it this way as well.
Getting rid of the governing attributes is going to make leveling up much more customizable.
So instead of 7 or 8 attributes, you choose health, magika or stamina each character level up.

I am giddy about how this game is going to let you customize your own character to your liking. Coming from WoW....ugh. I hate cookie cuter it was horrid.

I've been a female redguard since Daggerfall and it's working out just fine for me
