Ailuranthropy, something I've always dreamed of seeing in TE

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 12:38 am

We all know Lycanthropy is the ability for a human (or mer) to shapeshift into the embodiment of a wolf, but there's something else I've always though would be extremely unique for this series that I've never seen any other game do. Ailuranthropy. Ailuranthropy is the ability for a human (or in this game's case, mam or mer) to shapeshift into the embodiment of a cat. Yes, werecats. Don't you guys think this would be something awesome to implemented into a future game?

I'd rather have them shapeshift us into an eagle.

I love that idea too. I posted something similar on another thread. Someone (I can't remember who) created a thread about a new beast race suggestion. The best and coolest idea I could come up with is an eagle hybrid.

Is werevulture good enough?

Read On Lycanthropy.

Nothing about werecats here, although it certainly could be argued that the author simply never encountered one. But we already have a cat race, it's pointless to introduce another one. I'd rather see Alfiq as a playable race when we finally get a game set in Elsweyr.

This would still be Lycanthropy. In TES Lore, Lycanthropy is the ability to transform into a Beast.

Werewolves, Werebears, Wereboars, Werecrocodiles, Werevultures, Weresharks, Weredaedroth, etc are all Creatures of Lycanthropy in TES lore.

Nah. Remember its called Alteration. Altering yourself to take on the forms of other animals is pretty much textbook alteration.

More spells in the current Spell Schools*, that what you mean. Also, be careful what you say. There are Al Gore Supporters on this site, I know for sure.

As a regular, non-lycanthropic race? Check out Lilmothiit - they were a vulpine race living in Black Marsh. They're believed to be extinct, but very little is know about them, so maybe...

And lore can be rewritten, new peoples and history added, nothing is set in stone :) Personally, I like the idea of a shapeshifting spell. A while ago someone created a thread about a druid class, it would fit nicely in the archetype.
