Alduins Bane - what happens to Parthurnax' words

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 12:32 pm

After I killed Alduin ( coders note -- far too easy a fight -- and I'm only level 19), I talk to Parth sitting on the rock. He offers me three words which appear in the top left hand corner of the screen after I meditate and accept them.

Question is, where do they go -- they are not in shouts or any other magic menu ?

Second question -- upon returning to one of the lifts ( at somewhere called Bazalsoreballs) or something like that, i find the external doors shut with no means of opening them. The other external entrances to the lifts to Blackreach are still open.

Any ideas on how to open this closed door ?

Blackreach is awesome by the way. Shame about the Falmers, Giant and other fights though.

The words you meditate on should be under active effects, they give bonuses to the shouts you already know. The fire one makes your fire shout stronger, and there is one that makes your ethereal form regen more health and mana I believe. I cant remember what the third one does atm.

Edit the another one "fus" gives you 25% more stagger to your unrelenting force and you are staggered 25% less.

I believe you can only have one of the effects active at a time too.

Correct. I didn't know that my first time through, and asked for all three in one session. Since I started from the top I ended up with Yol, and that character wasn't even using Fire Breath.

The most useful one, is "Fus", which makes you do 25% more Stagger, and get Staggered 25% less (Affects Unrelenting Force, Shield Bashing, Power attacks, etc). "Yol" makes your Firebreath Shout do 25% more damage, which it still doesn't do much damage then, especially at higher levels. "Feim" let's you regenerate Health 25% faster when Ethereal, which just plain svcks.

Destruction mages that use dual-casting and Impact even take Fus, as it even affects that.
