All New Kung Fu Panda TV Show.

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:44 am

So I don't know if you guys know or not, but they just had the WORLD PREMIERE of Kung Fu Panda Legend of Awesomeness.

Lets break this down a bit....

So Far:

First, the name is just stupid... The legend of Awesomeness? huh... I can see the idea guys just laughing like little boys about to make a youtube video for the first time when they thought of the name.

Second, the theme song, was.... meh... It sounded... like a jack black song. And the weird part is, Jack black isn't even in the show.

Third, The animation is kind of odd. Some things look great and some things just unfinished. The textures on the scenery that wasn't the focus of attention just lacked in detail.

Fourth, the acting was ok. Honestly they took Po and made him more annoying then anything. I loved the way they portrayed him in the movie, just not the show so far.

Fifth and Finally, the first episode was just not an attention grabber. My little Pony had a WAAAAAAAAY better attention grabbing first episode then this show.

I will admit, the Crocodile bandits did make me laugh at points especially the leader. That was the best part of the show.

So far I would have to give this show a 4 out 10 if I was the critic. Not very impressed. I loved the first movie, so I was expecting a little more out of it.

Did anyone else watch it? What did you think.

P.S. I was sick, and stuck at home thanks to a bottle of Magnesium Citrate... So yes I had time to waste and watch this show.

That was the person who played the main crocodile dude, I don't think it was the same guy, but it did sound like him a bit.

I watched part of the the preview episode (the one where Po, master tigress & mantis are escorting the piggy princess) it wasn't all that bad. tigress IMHO sounded a lot like Arcee of Transformers: Prime (VA Sumalee Montano)

Ya was quite surprised he voiced the Scotsman from Samurai Jack which is a pretty sweet character. Also voices Rico from Penguins which is definitely a well done animated series imho. Sadly I really get the distinct impression Nick is grabbing at things in the dark hoping to capture audiences.

I think we watched a different episode. It might depend on the episode, or have a growing attractiveness that a lot of other shows can have.

Ha! I can see it now though. Ah.... that's another show I miss... But he is a great voice actor. I really like all the different characters he played I recognize at least half of the stuff he did.

I haven't seen the penguins. Or are you talking about the Penguins of Madagascar? I love that show... :stare:

No, they're just pandering to WoW fans.

The best kid's shows are the "meta" ones like Adventure Time. It is hard to make Kung Fu Panda meta I would guess though. Of "non-meta" ones I think the Ben 10 series has some good episodes. But then this is coming from someone who quite likes Clone Wars. (Yes I watch too much Cartoon Network)
