It is all Obsidian's fault.

Do not blame Bethesda as they did not develop the game, they published it. Some would say that Bethesda is to blame partially and/or fully but I say no. They published it at the discretion of Obsidian. Bethesda chose Obsidian to develop F:NV and when Obsidian says it is done Bethesda puts it into print. Bethesda has nothing to do with why Obsidian's game was released so badly because as the publisher they follow the word of what the developer says. If the developer says the game is done and that it has been tested and prepared then there is no dispute and the publisher pulls their end of the bargain and does its job. Fallout New Vegas is broken because of Obsidian.

As the developer Obsidian controls everything in the game. They developed it and they play test it. When Obsidian (the sole developer) says the game is complete, the publisher complies with this announcement and takes the final copy of what the developer (Obsidian) created and puts it into print. The publisher doesn't play test, it doesn't look over the developer's shoulder, it does not check the finished product, and it most certainly does not have anything to do with the process of the game being made and sent for approval. The publisher's sole purpose is to take what the developer gives them, put it into print, and distribute it among stores internationally or otherwise. Now that you know how a publisher works you can clearly see that blaming Bethesda in any way with this game is absolutely foolish and a pathetic attempt at trying to bring a great video game company (that brought us many games we all love) down. Leave Bethesda alone because the only thing they did wrong was choose Obsidian as the developer. The game's glitches, bugs, and down right crappy design and development is 100% solely the fault of Obsidian. For proof just look at previous Obsidian games. They all svck don't they? Now look at Bethesda's previous games. They all rock don't they? Bethesda never had any game-breaking glitches or bugs in Fallout3 (it did have bugs and glitches but none that ever made the game unplayable or even unbearable, they were all insignificant and within reason of such a large game) or even Oblivion or Morrowind which were both massively larger than Fallout3.

Now if you read this entire post then you would know that you have no argument against this as I know I am right as I have done the research and checked my knowledge. If you do try and dispute this then you make an ass only of yourself as I do predict shenanigans to appear in this thread so this is the only time I will be in this thread. I'm posting it and leaving it and I will not be back to check replies of views. I have given the fools the truth and it's time for them to brood over it. As for the intelligent beings in the thread, they will find themselves in agreement. As for whether I care for the nonsense of angry ones who like to share their 'opinions' I must say I care not for their opinions of whether I am right or wrong because I know I am right so I apologize for anyone offended but you have none to be offended by but your own ignorance. I eagerly await the next Elder Scrolls game as it will be the pinnacle of success as Bethesda are amazing developers and are just as good publishers as they performed their job to the letter. Enjoy Obsidian's failure and hopefully Obsidian will fix it but I doubt it.

TL:DR, but I did skim it.

Basically what you're saying is that you work for either Obsidian, Bethesda or Zenimax and therefore have first hand knowledge that Obsidian was in no way rushed by either Beth or Zenimax. You also have first hand knowledge that no one, not one single person from Beth helped Obsidian develop this game in any way, shape or form.

Must be nice to be such an industry insider. Tell me, Mr. Insider, when is the next patch due out and what exactly will it fix?

Bethesda owns the rights to the game engine.. The game engine is a buggy engine. All these major bugs we are seeing now were also present in Fallout 3 on release. Bethesda hired Obsidian to do this game and had them use this engine.
Who's fault is it? ..
Personally I like to blame whoever is in charge of the money. That's the answer. It's not the game developers faults that games are buggy.. it's the wheelers and dealers who profit the most from the development of the game. The hidden people that nobody knows the names of. Blame money.

I want to incinerate Obsisian for making us play that [censored] caravan game. It makes no sense to me even after reading the instructions and watching youtube guides.

I got a tip for you for caravan.

First get the least amount of cards in your deck.. Make sure you have all 4 10's 9's and 7's. Now when the game starts. Discard all cards but leave 3 10's 9 and 7's in your final hand. Now start playing. Put a 10 in each row to start. Once finished that. Look to see which row the NPC has played in. If he has 2 cards in the 1 row you play row 2 and 3 if he has 2 cards in row 2 you play row 1 and 3.

After you play the 10's follow by 9 and then 7. Your goal is to reach 26 for 2 out of the 3 hands. Simple enough??

anyways Can we get any confirmation that a patch is inplace to fix everything. Or im just gonna trade this game in and tell all my friends to not get it. But to get assassins creed instead

The exact opposite is the case; quality assurance (including game testing) is a duty of the publisher.

Obsidian didn’t make a complete game and then asked kindly if they would publish it, they were hired by Bethesda to produce a new game in the Fallout world. In this case the publisher has a producer who oversees the product handled by an external developer. A developer has to send out regular current builds of the game to the publisher so they can oversee the process of the game, approve and pay them (they usually get paid per build). The publisher has always the last word on a game, if they are not satisfied how a build turned out they can interfere.

So saying Bethesda did not have the control about the game they publish is just absurd.

It was Bethesda who forced the release date on them, giving them insufficient time to finish it.

A delicious copypasta (with slightly profanity edit out) from a user named "racofer" at RPGCodex, it was posted two months ago....

Don't worry guys, with NWN2 Obsidian will have the proper time to polish the game and deliver what they're capable off unlike KotOR2 which LucasArts basically forced them to release unfinished.
Don't worry guys, with Alpha Protocol Obsidian will have the proper time to polish the game and deliver what they're capable off unlike NWN2 which Atari basically forced them to release unfinished.
Don't worry guys, with New Vegas Obsidian will have the proper time to polish the game and deliver what they're capable off unlike Alpha Protocol which Sega forced them to release unfinished.
Don't worry guys, with Dungeon Siege 3 Obsidian will have the proper time to polish the game and deliver what they're capable off unlike New Vegas which Bethesda forced them to release unfinished.

I found that funny and to this date sadly true.

My thoughts on Obisidan are that they have good people sitting there, but their overall manpower isn't enough to create a true triple A game on their own. In 2008 Obsidian has ~130 people (afaik split more or less into two groups (Alpha Protocol/Fallout New Vegas), Bioware in the same time had ~500 people (afaik split into more or less three groups(Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Kotor MMO) and it shows. I still like all of their games, even when most of their games look like these slightly polished HD remakes of a last gen game with bad resource optimization.
