Almost all Argonian NPCs are thieves bandits

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 12:32 pm

Considering how the Beast Races are treated in Skyrim, it's no wonder the only way they can support themselves is through larceny or banditry.

Kind of makes me want to make an Argonian or Khajiit and have them be Dragonborn.

Hmm, that's going to be my next character.

Also, there is the locational bias: the honest ones weren't kicked out of wherever they came from.
Plus, some is cultural: argonian tree sap, khajiiti moon sugar/skooma are frowned upon by imperial culture but considered normal by those races.

The game seems to mostly keep the "races in their places" as far as character types are concerned.

Luckily WE can do whatever we want.

Skyrim's not a friendly place for Argonians so the mages and other types are probably in the south, just like the low amount of Khajitts too.

Have you ever heard of a "good" Lizard race in any other story or game? There you go.

Forced into crime by the racist society they live in. If the game was in Black Marsh, you'd have a whole host of upstanding Argonians, and only a few Nords.

I'm gunna go the same route and say that Khajiits, Argonians and Dunmer are treated like filth in Skyrim so it's hard for any of them to really succeed, thus they're forced into these bad positions. Riften seems the most tolerant place to Argonians and Dunmer despite being more allied with the stormcloaks then the imperials. There are legitimate Argonians and Dunmer in Riften, a couple of Dunmer traders around and the inn is run/owned by a legitimate Argonian woman.

Plenty of noble dragon-humanoids but that's dragons, not lizards...

Ehhh Chronotrigger, but that's amphibian and only one person turned into frog through magic, not a race...

Soul Caliber series takes the lizard people as just mindless neutral faction I think...

Star trek features gem'hadar who has scales and are very loyal warriors... well everyone in star trek is just about the same as another so I guess that's a moot point.

Star wars, same as star trek with its dealing of sentient lifeforms.

Last third of Godzilla films featured him/her/it as defender of Earth.
.
.
.
That's it! Now I'll play as space faring, loyal warriors addicted on drugs who are tall as moutains and breathes fire, defending Tamriel against alien threat!!!!!!!! Then proceed to do whatever the hell I want in mindless fashion.

Deeja - thief / bandit
From Deepest Fathoms - thief
Shahvee - (ex)thief
Wujeeta - illegal consumer of Skooma

Beem-Ja - watch your back
Deep-In-His-Cups - thief
Jaree-Ra - thief
Gulum-Ei - thief
Stands-In-Shallows - rogue
Veezara - Dark Brotherhood assassin
Watches-The-Roots - thief

Derkeethus - not techically thief/bandit but gives me the creeps and I like him less than Jare-Ra

It's really pathetic that even with attempting to use the console I have trouble finding a nice Argonian follower.

This reminds me of something i realized yesterday - Theres nothing to drink other than alcohol. Not complaining :)

I was always "The Good Guy", IE a Paladin on all my Past Characters. So I always felt sad that my brethren were out stealing and murdering.

Oh well, becoming a Hound changes a Lizard.

That's because the bad ones have to move far away.

Or did you think the good ones would voluntarily move to Skyrim

Not sure what to say, I can understand khajit, all racism aside most of them become bandits because there fast and sneaky, but argonians I don't understand why most of them would be bandits, especially in skyrim the cold would slow them down or even force them to sleep, lol imagine trying to pickpocket and pass out right on the street, you'd be so busted.

All the Argonian criminals flee from Black Marsh, and where do they go? Skyrim for one.

Because Skyrim is such a racist place that no Argonian Commoner would call that place home.

If anything, its usually business as to why those Argonians are there to begin with.

That said, almost all the bandit I met are humans.
Everyone is racist to argonians. In Cyrodil they're disliked just as much.

Yep, there's that Countess in Leyawiin who used to get the kicks out of torturing Argonians.

one is a reptile and the other is a mammal and argonian culture doesn't praise and encourage thievery.
No, but they did encourage murder.

That said, my Argonian character is lonely and getting depressed that there are no eligible Argonian bachelorettes around for him to marry.

Not a single khajiit girl to marry either :/

Who cares? Argonians don't belong in Skyrim anyway. Lizards like the warm sun beating down on their slimy, scaly skin. There is a reason they live in the humid swamps of Black Marsh. The only ones that would leave are the ones that aren't welcome in their ideally suited homeland.
