Amata and Dogmeat FNV Easter Egg?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 1:22 pm

When I first saw this http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductScreenshots.aspx?Product_ID=74570&image=16 I thought for sure that there was going to be a reference to Amata and Dogmeat aswell as the DC Wasteland. Then I found this in the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sunny_Smiles. Saying the character's name is Sunny Smiles etc.

Still, she bares a resemblence to Amata. I think it's still going to be a sort of easter egg. What do you think?

May have already been discussed before, but if anyone's heard anything about this care to shed some light?

I HIGHLY doubt she will bring up DC or be a reference/easter egg to it. She will guide you throught toturial and take up most of your time in Goodsprings so I doubt she will be a small easter egg.

I've seen a closer picture. She doesn't really look anything like Amata.

I'm not talking about her being an easter egg in the traditional sense. Just seems odd to have a character that looks like Amata with a pet dog that could possibly be dogmeat. Looks like it could be more than a coincidence.

It seems weird for there to be a character that looks like Amata with a pet dog that could possibly be dogmeat.

Hold on let me find an old post that kind of comfimed the dogs name.

That dog is Cheyenne.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sunny_Smiles and http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Amata despite a slight jaw difference it's still pretty coincidental that that isn't her. Not preaching it is just pointng out its a pretty big coincidence for her not to be Amata.

What confirms it really, a page on the Wiki, or has there actually been info released? Because until then it's all gossip

Most of the females in Fallout 3 looked similar to each other. Lucy West and Moira weren't much different.

After reading a bit it seems she's an "Amataesque" character. Befriending and training you, if you let her, in the begining when the character is still in shambles from getting his head blown off.

So the character probably isn't Amata but an ode to Amata. Someone who looks a lot like Amata and plays a similar role as Amata in FO3. Hard to argue?

I don't see how it could be Amata, considering the 'Rebels' never wanted to leave the Vault, JS.

... I'm not seeing it... I mean, the biggest resemblance i see is the fact she has black eyebrows and hair lol. jawbone, cheek bones, both in entirely different places. But then again, I'm halfway asleep right now, in fact, I just typed I'll, instead of I'm... That's how I know I need to go to sleep ;)

Eh, you've got to expect that some characters will simply look similar since there are so many of them and not so many faces and hairstyles. This is one of those cases I believe.

Yeah, pretty hard to argue- she looks a bit like Amata...just like a dozen other female NPCs in FO3. Plays a similar role? Don't really see how. Just another semi-generic looking female NPC says I.

Dogmeat is a recurring gag in the series. I could see him making yet another return.

Amata? She's hardly all that important. 15-20 minutes of my playtime per playthrough is spent with her visible, and she does absolutely nothing noteworthy as far as Vegas is concerned. I could MAYBE see a passing reference to Project Purty, though. Like, for example, this NPC/NPC dialogue:

NPC 1: Did you hear? They figured out how to purify water on the east coast. Large scale. I hear they're just giving it away they have so much of it.
NPC 2: That's awesome. Hey, did you notice the big horners were a little more aggressive than normal?
NPC1: Yeah, I did. NCR said they were gonna put somebody on that but I have my doubts...

Ummmm, No.

You wont find Amata in any form in this game. And I really doubt that dogmeat will show up either, but Amata would never make it across the wastes to Vegas.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Cheyenne - It's not Dogmeat. But I'm sure that Dogmeat will somehow make it into this game being that he was in Fallout 1 and 2.
