Amazing footage of uncontacted tribe

I actually think it's quite a moving piece of footage, a genuinely rare event captured on film. It's moving for several reasons, though. It kind of represents the beginning of the end of their way of life. Do we have a moral imperative to offer people like them help with our medical technology? Or should we stay well away and let them continue to exist as they have done for thousands of years?

Edit: just found out the footage may have been acted out by the tribesman in return for goods. Bah.

I have to say, actually, that was kind of touching. Brings a definite sense of humility, at least to me. I'm kind of torn about how to treat the situation, though. It would probably be best to leave them be, but it would be like humanity as a whole contacting alien life. After it's happened, even if we never see them again, it's impossible to act like it never happened...

Pretty cool video, wish there was a bit more info on it though. Like what tribe it was or what has happened to them since.

I liked that, I wonder if they knew anything about modern technology, probably not.

Edit: Wait, this was filmed in 1976 apparently.

I think the footage http://www.uncontactedtribes.org/brazilfootage, although less impressive, is more authentic than the YT vid I posted.

Do we let them continue to exist like that or do we intervene? I feel like by not contacting them we're almost treating them like exhibits in a human zoo. We have medicine that could help them out, and other things that they might want. But on the other hand, they could be perfectly happy as they are.

Too bad that footage is so old. 1976 is when it was filmed, apparently. I wonder how that tribe has fared since then.

I kept waiting for them to shiv the guy with their big sticks.

He should have donbe what Bruce Parry did, strip naked and approach them offering tobacco.

Simple - you let them decide.

While it might be difficult to explain exactly what modern medicine is, humans have enough in the way of universal language to be able to convey the basics. If they accept the assistance, so be it. If they aren't interested, then get off their territory and leave them be.

Actually it′s quite possible they were only reacting like that to the cooked meals because they were expecting to feel bad. It′s possible that their stomachs were not ready for something like that after eating only raw meat but I think the matter here is largely psychological.

Apperantly the 'mute audio' button isn't large enough for people to notice it

Oh yes, well cooked meat's going to kill you over raw meat. Some people...

Edit: Just trying to be on topic, the original audio would be nice, but at least we hear their voices at the end of the video.

That was really awesome to see.
if they were able to live this long without any help with technology, then why should we introduce it to them? That is beautiful! I wish I could live a simpler life like that. They also looked really healthy. They looked fit, and I didn't see any rib cages sticking out. If they were struggling then maybe, but they look like they are doing really well on their own.
