Amazing Graphics? Not for me.

Post » Thu Jul 05, 2012 5:23 pm

I always through Skyrim had great graphics... until I looked at the screenshots in:

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1390092-show-us-your-screenshots-47/

Those graphics are extremely good... at least to me they are.

My graphics don't look as good. I am playing the game on a 24 inch screen, 1080p, full HD, with an HDMI cable, on the Xbox 360 (Gears of War Edition).

Why are my graphics not as good? I know - no reason to complain - but I am still curious.

Because you're not on PC

Not trying to start a console war, but it's the truth.

They play on the PC with appearance and texture mods enabled. That is how they achieve that high quality look. With those specs, you have the best possible graphics achievable on the 360 version.

That's leaving out HQ texture mods, lighting mods, mesh improvement mods, etc.

Oh, no, I don't partake in Console Wars, so no disrespect taken or given here.

Facts are facts, and quite frankly - Xbox is the lowest in graphic comparison. I have the Xbox version.

Well... at least I know why now. Just could not ever get into PC gaming other than strategy games (Age of Empires, etc).

Yup, and even vanilla Skyrim looks better on PC. I actually debated buying Skyrim for 360 versus PC when I got it. Graphics were the prime factor in choosing PC over 360, but now that I'm getting into using mods, I'm twice as glad I made the PC choice.

If you like RTSes, give Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander 2 a shot for PC. The first one is a great, amazing RTS; the second is a lot of fun, although not quite as deep a game as the first.

Why haven't we got someone to make a TES version of the Mortal Kombat movie theme?

I'm more of a PC gamer these days, but mainly play older PC games. Now for something from the Thrill Kill soundtrack instead!

I play Skyrim on the PS3 because that is the version I have to play right now. I plan to get the PC version at some point.

You're basically playing at medium settings without AA or AF. Also, it's 720p you're playing at, not 1080p.

Well, the 720p is upscaled on 1080p televisions. Just saying what the 1080p is...

Upscaling doesn't mean anything. You can't create detail when it's not there in the first place.

Pretty much most of the screenshot you see are people with extremely good comps with up-to-date graphics cards thats why they have such godly amounts of good graphics.

It doesn't mean anything, yes, but I was just pointing the fact out.
