Amazing moment just now

Just exited the Dark Brotherhood, wearing my new hood and looking good.... I'm off to do a quest that's nearby.
I come across a random fort with orc hunters fighting off a blood dragon. Normal routine, I go to help by shooting arrows at the dragon, then randomly here comes, maybe, half of all the group of orc hunters, 3 of them, running out the main gate, swinging at me and shooting me with their bow and arrows, while the other half is fighting the dragon. I may have hit one of them on accident while trying to shoot the dragon.... Pretty intense for a good minute, fighting off these hunters and the dragon behind them...

But what made this all so awesome, is now I randomly turned into a werewolf, because I forgot I had the ring on that, literally, randomly turns you into a werewolf, the "Cursed Ring of Hircine".

I'm with little health after the animation to transform takes a minute and getting beat by the orcs, I manage to sprint up behind the dragon as he lands, I'm just clawing away at his actual ass, going to town, as theres 3 maniacal orc hunters that are swinging at my werewolf ass, going to town.... and the dragons tail literally smacks down and kills everybody but one orc, who now starts swinging at the dragons ass for killing all his friends. Wow. Amazing. Re-load, do again!

Haha, sounds fun. By the way, you might want to go into that fort (if it's the fort I think you're talking about) because there is something quite interesting in there.

This makes me think that all ppl complaining about repetitiveness are constantly fast traveling around and missing on the real good stuff.

I recently did stop fast traveling and started seeing way more unique areas, and characters giving radiant quests. It's much more fun. I only fast travel if I need to visit my house.

And I just entered that fort. Good stuff there. Thanks. Moved along one of my other quests.

Yep, the game really shines most when you wander around and just engage yourself in the world. I can see that someone who just fast travels and does quests 'by the book' would miss out on a big part of this kind of fun, IMO this is really the heart of what is good in Skyrim.
