Amazon and Ebay fails.

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2011 5:28 am

So im checking out a seller profile today to make sure my games will be shipped soon and for the most part, everything checks out. 95% of the reviews are positive, 2% neutral... but what about this 3% that I see negative? I look into it, and these are the comments I see. Keep in mind none of this is made up, no matter how ridiculous it seems.

"MY PACKAGE HAVE BEEN SENT BACK TO U AND I HAVEN'T RECEIVED BACK PAYMENT YET!"

"Amazon was great but the product is bad... way to confusing and not worth the money at all." (This one makes me want to eat my shirt)

"Idem like up..." (what?)

This is just a taste of the amount of fail I have seen in my two years of using Amazon.

Share your Amazon fail stories here for I am interested in some luls and facepalms!

I purchased this product 4.47 Billion Years ago and when I opened it today, it was half empty.

Going off of the time line you used, wouldn't half of the material you ordered be lead 206, and not half empty?
Clearly some one else tampered with your packaging, therefor is not a problem with the product itself.

Ah. What brilliant minds we have here. The eternal question springs anew-
Is your sample of Uranium half empty, or is it half full of Lead-206?
Indeed.

eBay is ok (if you're into auctions, that's not my style though)

the biggest snafu I've had with Amazon was just a couple of weeks back, I ordered a game & everything was fine until it supposedly reached the local Post office (according to the tracker on Amazon) so I was expect to get it the mail the next day as is the norm in the situation when I didn't get it, I checked the Amazon tracker again & overnight the package backtracked some 200 miles & the local Post Office never knew about it & package tracking sites couldn't find it.
I did get my game but not after it went the same four towns a 2nd time.

is that  worthy?

:lmao:

That made my night.

EDIT: more gems from those reviews:

Oratory ingestion is not recommended. I decided to eat some of my Uranium last week and experienced some unwanted side-effects. I now go by the name General Zorg AND YOU SHALL BOW DOWN TO ME AND MY MUTANT POWERS!!!

I was unsure about this product, I'm used to pretty high quality stuff from my friends Vladimir and Dimitri. Always such a pleasure to do business with two such lovely young men.

I was pretty disappoint with using it as a an energy source, but it was extremely helpful with making my dream come true: Sharks with frickin' lasers. I can't tell you how joyous I am to finally have been able to mutate sharks to be able to accept and use implanted laser devices.

I would advise you not to use it as an aid during six though; my balls still don't feel right and I think she has a little bit inside her.

Regards,
Evil Scientist

Yep for better prices than you can get most anywhere (outside of extreme sales, but you get a hard copy from amazon).

Well I have been sent a broken game by Ebay, I then shipped it back and asked for a new one, and then I was shipped back the same broken game....

Amazon I have had no bad experiences with. If something ever does go wrong, the seller is always happy to help.

My dad ordered the RE5 collectors edition guide for me but the seller said he did not have it anymore. We got a refund and 1 year later, it comes in the mail. seems like a fail to me.

All the time. I've been using both pretty heavily for a good 8 years or so. I buy almost everything (except groceries) online, and in my experience Amazon is probably the best large online retailer doing what they do. Keep in mind, though, that there is a big difference between things sold by Amazon.com and Amazon Marketplace affiliates. Amazon Marketplace affiliates are 3rd-party sellers that use Amazon.com's online storefront and ordering system to sell goods. As far as product reviews and such, the internet is going to be the internet. There are a lot of wacky people out there.

I've gotten a ton of crazy good deals on eBay as well. If you use Paypal and only buy stuff from sellers with a good feedback history I think it's pretty safe.

Yeah, there is. It was wicked awesome.

The only problem I've ever had with Amazon was back in '07, around September. I had pre-ordered the Legendary Edition of Halo 3, which came out that month. About five weeks later, it still hadn't arrived... so I called them up... and they tried to send me a new 360, for some weird reason.

So, about four weeks later, I finally got the freakin' game... but it was all scratched up. So, a few days after that, they sent me a new Legendary Edition... and made me send back the old, scratched up one.

I finally got to play Halo 3 about two months later.

Which made it all the more awesome when I did.

It was either get that surgery for my son or get this jem for his 23-year-old babysitter. I'm confident I made the right choice. His neck is getting pretty nasty with that lump, but you should see how hot his babysitter is! I know $125K is a lot to spend on a necklace, but they offer 6 month financing! That's less than $20,000 a month. What loser can't afford to spare $20K a month?

I've been a customer of amazon for 11 years, before they restructured. Out of hundreds of books I helped ordered from it, only few packages mailed to me with damage, and they were all returned, refunded or replaced. You cannot satisfy everyone, you satisfied at least 95% of your customer, then you win the game.

Avatar: The Burning Earth, which is hailed as the easiest 1000 gamerscore in the world is listed between $40 to $70 on Amazon. People know this is game is a gamerscore horder's dream so they list it at an insane price, and that is a fail.
