amazon preorder - only one code

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:28 am

Well, I'm at work so I cannot test this. Do the pre-order bonuses come as a seperate code? I've looked through the packaging and can only find one key - which I assume is the master game key. Should there be another one?

If I -am- missing my code - no big deal... if I get that desperate I'll use the console to give myself the stuff. However, that said - do I have a recourse? Should I be bothering Bethesda, Steam, or Amazon (given that the DVD case was sealed, I expect not Amazon)

The item on Amazon.com states "Access codes will be packaged inside the game box." - guess I need to open a ticket with them?

Check with Amazon... or try using the key that you received.

The key did add it into steam, but that's it.

I've sent a mail on to Amazon. I'll see what they say :)

hmmm i guess amazon uk does it differently

The codes will be sent via email to customers. Customers who pre-order before 21 October will receive their codes on Friday 22 October. Customers who pre-order on 21 October will receive their codes on 23 October.

thats what it says on their pre order page for me, but i wont know more until friday

when you say the key added it to steam, you mean the pre order pack? perhaps you need to tell steam to dl it? or activate it?

from t he steam forum on activating pre orders:

Fallout: New Vegas] Activating DLC and Bonus Content

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To activate downloadable content for Fallout: New Vegas, double-click on the game's entry in your Library list.

This will bring up the game's launcher menu. Select the "Data Files" option.

From here, you can select the content you would like to have available in the game.

To view the additional content subscriptions for Fallout that are registered to your account, please do the following:

1) Log in to Steam
2) Navigate to your Library list
3) Right-click on the game
4) Select "View downloadable content".

Alternatively, you can also find the DLC (downloadable content) for a game by right-clicking on the game, selecting 'Properties' and navigating to the DLC tab.

I preordered from Gamestop and ther was a seperate flier
under the game manual with a code for downloadable content.
There are instructions on how to install downloadable content on the flier.

Hmm, let me give this flier a double check. I didn't see any codes on it...

EDIT: nope, just an advertisemant for Hunted and Brink.

The code I added was the main code that added FO:NV to my steam account. I can't launch the game from there - at work, and that's a small VM useful only to download stuff via steam on our backbone (being a sysadmin has it's advantages, lol). It can barely render the steam window (horribly, I might add. Basically can't read anything)

Edit: nothing loose in the case, nothing in or on the manual, etc.

Edit: kind of alarming - no confirmation email, and no indication on Amazon (that I can find) that I reached out to them...

Edit: eh whatever. I didn't pre-order for the tribal pack, I pre-ordered so I'd have it quickly. I really don't care much about missing this. Unless Bethesda can (and wants) to just issue me a key for this, I think I'm going to let it be.
