Amulet of Mara Isnt working

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:10 am

Now I haven't Bought the Amulet but i found like four of them in chests around Skyrim. I put them on and the dialog doesn't seem to change for any of the woman in skyrim.

Am i doing something wrong or is my character just that ugly?

You usually have to complete a quest for the person you want to marry. Once you do, the dialogue should become available.

Also, you have to speak with the Head Priest in Riften about marriage. Until you do that, and ask him if you could have a marriage, then you won't get the option even if you have already done a quest/favor for your intended.

1. I found that you can't loot them, you have to buy it so that you've heard the "rules" of marriage from Maranol in the temple in Riften.
2. When he explains, Maranol makes it clear that the people of Skyrim need little things done for them.
ie: Ysolda in the market in Whiterun needs a mammoth tusk to get herself started as a merchant, Balimund in Riften needs 10 fire salts, the lady in the Radiant Raiment in Solitude needs you to wear her fancy clothes and go tell the Jarl about them as an advertisemant, Camilla at the Riverwood Trader will marry you because you got the golden claw back for her brother... etc...

good luck. NO one is too ugly in Skyrim... it's a hard place where marriage is as simple as an errand and a necklace advertising your availability... :)

From what I understand, while there are alot of Amulets of Mara only 1 is a marriage related one, and that one is the one you buy from Moromol (or what ever his name was) and once you have that, complete a quest for someone THEN you can marry them :-)
