2 Angry Bugs - Companions & Breezehome

I am such a fan of The Elder Scrolls games, and there are simply no words to describe the DAYS of enjoyment I have derived from playing the latest installment, Skyrim. However, after having restarted Skyrim about four times (after 20-190 hours of gameplay, depending) due to bugs impeding my enjoyment of or even my continuing the game, I feel I need to mention the two bugs in particular that have made me turn off my XBOX in sheer frustration AND made me feel like I didn't even want to start a new game.

First, I have to say that these bugs have already been mentioned across the Internet and I have found no fixes (for the XBOX 360) that does not involve going to an earlier save or starting over. And so I don't anticipate replies with manual bug fixes. I completely understand that with a game as big, vast, and free as Skyrim, there are bound to be bugs! It's like real life, you know. It's so awesome, and yet so buggy! My Skyrim quest log is chock-full of bugged quests, some that I can't complete, and some that just won't go away even after completion. I just hope that because these two are so devastating (for me anyway), the awareness of them will incite fixes in future patches.

So the 2 major bugs are...

1) The Companions Quest Line
There seems to be a lot of talk about a major bug concerning the Companions quest line and the "Helm of Winterhold" quest. Like many others, I was able to complete the "Purity of Revenge" portion of the Companions major quest line, but unable to start the "Glory of the Dead" quest line because of a conflict with the "Helm of Winterhold" quest, but I actually did NOT have the "Helm of Winterhold" Quest in my quest log when this bug struck. I had, however, retrieved the "Helm of Winterhold" about FOUR times for the Jarl of Winterhold before I started The Companions quest line, so I guessed that because clearly the "Helm" quest was bugged (read: I kept getting it even after completion), my Companions quest line was permanently bugged.

So I waited to start a new game when Dawnguard came out, thinking that the DLC would also repair some of the quest-clogging bugs and deciding that I would complete the Companions quest line from the very beginning of my game.

1.5) "Hired Muscle"
Okay, so I said there were two major bugs I was going to talk about, but one small bug that popped up at the very beginning of my new Dawnguard game made me think, "Uh oh, here we go again..." Farkas of the Companions told me to rough up Elrindir of The Drunken Huntsman (quest: "Hired Muscle"), which I did. When I returned to Farkas he immediately went on about how Skjor wanted to talk to me and I was never given the option to complete the "Hired Muscle" quest. Since this did not seem to affect my game, minus clogging up my quest log, I thought I wouldn't mention it. But I did... Makutab.

2) Breezehome Alchemy Lab
So, I'm playing my new Dawnguard game and I'm working hard for the Companions and kaloo kalay, I have enough money to buy Breezehome and all her decorations. Only I've given Proventus Avenicci 1500 gold for the 500 gold alchemy lab and it will NOT show up in my house. This happened to me last night, I was enraged. I turned off the XBOX and now I don't want to play Skyrim until these bugs are fixed or Elder Scrolls Online comes out. I know I can use alchemy labs elsewhere and that this isn't really a game-impeding bug. But it's very frustrating and I just can't help but think of all the other bugs that lie in store, and another 100+ hour game wasted.

Elder Scrolls, I love you so much. I hope these bugs get fixed someday so we can play together again.
