Annoyed by Pip-Boy DAM / DPS fading

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:03 pm

Poor design. Tons of space on that GUI. Why should there be two stats fading, when they could just both be listed?

Really hope this gets changed in a patch.

It's annoying to have to wait for the fading to see the stat you want to see, especially when quickly changing between weapons to compare.

Not counting some of the game's technical problems, this is one of the "features" / design decisions that just really bothers me, because personally, I honestly think this is just very poor design.

I wouldn't call the stats fading in and out being poor design, per se, but I WOULD like to be able to alternate manually between DPS and Damage. When I'm looking at a submachine gun, I want superior DPS. When I'm looking at a sniper rifle, I want to know how much raw damage it does per shot. Waiting between fades to compare my massive arsenal of guns is kind of tedious.

Agree, this is a silly 'feature'.

Well exactly. It's just kind of silly to have a fading stat when there's lots of room on that GUI to just show both stats. There's no reason to switch between them manually. Why not show them both at once?

Maybe I just don't play enough games, but I don't remember another PC game showing a stat screen, when there's enough room on the screen, and having *fading* stats. I mean, come on, seriously, that's just silly. It *is* poor design. There's no good reason for it. I'm not sure what they were thinking. The point of a stat screen is to see all the stats at once.

Yes I agree too! Its not that its massively annoying but just it feels like a drag having to wait for the bloody thing to fade when comparing 2 different weapons.

I would definitely prefer to have both on-screen together!

I don't see why that wasn't the case to start with! :shakehead:

I also agree. It makes comparing weapons very annoying.
