Annoying Problem!

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 3:38 pm

Ok, so I've been working for a few hours on a new cave to explore and the Kit crashes on me out of no where. So no big problem right? Nope.
I re-open the Creation Kit and all of a sudden my Cell I was working in has dissapeared. The file is still on my computer though. So I restart again and load the Skyrim.esm along with my .esp file and continue work. Only to find the Kit has now split my previous work and the new details I added into to separate files! What do I do?!?

When you start the CK and load your file, you need to set your .esp as the ACTIVE file, otherwise changes made will be saved into a new file.

OK, so if I load my origional work I'll just have to redo the details I added? And why did my Cell (I named EC1) Suddenly dissapear after the crash and I reloaded the .esm?

Thanks for the reply!

Yea, you can redo the work on the original file by making it active and loading it. I've also heard that you can merge mods with a tool called TesVSnip, but I've not use it yet.

As for why the cell disappeared, if you only loaded the .esm, then it SHOULDN'T have appeared, since it didn't load the file that that cell was saved into. If it wasn't there when you loaded your .esp, then I'm not sure.
