Ehhh, after the first one, the others felt soley a mix of cash cow and action sequences for the sake of 'WOAH!'s. It's not to say they were BAD, they just werent as good as 1.

As is the problem with most films. I think the main problem with sequels is that you've seen most of what they can give you in the first film.
I don't know what people were expecting. You can only have one introductory movie and you can't replicate that experience. The whole trilogy is one giant single movie for me and they did hell of a job in sequels. Same for Star Wars saga.
