Ants?

Has anyone else seen these? I've been playing like forever it seems and just found these last night. I tired every way I could to interact with them but couldn't. I assumed they might be an alchemy ingrediant, but I can't pic them up.

Does anyone know a purpose for them?

Thanks.

I only ever noticed a trail outside Riverwood on the way to Bleak Falls Barrow. I admit I pay more attention to the sky nowadays. Ah, simpler times.

Yeah they are real. Not very well made graphically though. I just thought it odd that they were not an alchemy ingrediant or something.

yeah maybe they never got to making them properly, just like the bats. maybe some one can mod in some ant and bat alchemy stuff.

ive always been a fan of the idea of dlc just adding more and more to the main world in the way of creatures buildings/dungeons loot ect think it would suit beths games, like if they slowly filled all the abandoned buildings infallout or increased imports of items into skyrim once you finish the war ect. ive always wanted an alternate start to be added in dlc. my idea for skyrims is to just load on the docks in solitude. strip all mainquest options/dialougue about helgen ect out and put in a quest to visit a trader or somthing at the different border points(also a random encounter if ypu just stumble over board site, you meet up with theif just down the road then see the storm cloaks running towards you your buddy theif starts running as you turn a line of legion as come out of the woods and surrounded you, screen black, load cart at helgen. thats how id like it, and that wouldnt be much work.

Yes the bats need work: http://i43.tinypic.com/2na7g1y.jpg

However you can never really see them well unless you pause the game and play with the camera ... and who would do that? :D

Well having played all the TES games I have no problem starting out as a prisoner. In fact it would just seem wrong if I didn't. But, I just did not like the Skyrim opening. Can't really put my finger on it but I think it was a lot of little things. Starting with how the whole thing starts off really slow ( really really slow) and then jumps into super fast, and then basically whatever pace you want.

I've never seen them. I admit I've looked for them but never really knew where to look so after I couldn't find them I figured it for a hoax.

I've seen the bats but again, didn't think they were in the game world. I thought they were like the birds from FO3.

I'm going to look for the ants near Riverwood now. :)

And if the people of Skyrim get bored, they can play "Ants in the pants!"

Bad joke, such a bad joke, , I'll go flog myself now. :P

I like this idea of a DLC. As you know most DLC these days are added 20 minute side content with some loot reward at the end. Once it's completed it's pointless to go back, let's hope a future DLC for Skyrim changes that trend.

Other than the one stump in Riverwood, I never saw them on any other stumps in the game.

Has anyone dropped any food near them to see if they try to eat it? Well, at least crawl towards it like they are going to eat it?

Apparently not as I was no where near Riverwood when I took this shot. I was near another lumbermill though.

Sadly spraying the log with flames, dropping a sweet roll or jumping up and down on them in iron boots doesn't seem to affect them in anyway. It would seem they are decoration only.
