Any 3Ds Owners Out There?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 3:20 pm

http://bfads.net/Ad/GameStop-2011 Gamestop is offering a Super Mario 3D Land 3DS for $119 when you trade in a DSi, I have the money for it, but I want 3DS owners opinions before I invest in it.
So I ask you, do you own a 3DS?
Do you like it?
Should I trade my DSi in for a 3DS? (I have a DS lite I'm keeping)
and Have you experienced any problems with the 3DS so far?

I own one, I like it, as for trading in your DSi, well, are there any 3D games out there you'd like to buy? That's pretty much the crux of it. OoT 3DS is much nicer than the originals and remakes, however, I found the final battle to be flubbed, due to too much lighting. It was a helluva ton more epic on the N64.

I got mine, because I was sorely behind the handheld times, and I just happened to have enough money in the bank to afford it.

I don't really care for the 3d effect, but you can turn it off. You should most definitely get a 3Ds because you cant play Ocarina of Time, Starfox 3D, or Cave Story 3D on the DSi.

I've had one since launch and I like it. It's a nice system that was rushed to market before it was ready. It's getting there though, with game demos, background downloading and eShop access via PC coming soon. Build quality isn't too bad, the system feels solid. I've read about squeaky buttons and the lower screen's bezel can leave http://cdn2.ubergizmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/3DS-screen-scratches.jpg (sometimes permanent) on the top screen, so it's bet to keep a cloth or something in between when it's closed.

-Poor battery life (3-5 hours, about the same as the original PSP; probably less with 3D on)
-http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2011/09/3ds_slide_pad.jpg, while not yet mandatory for any games, shows Nintendo's inability to think ahead. A redesign is surely in the works with a second circle pad built in.

Unless there are 3DS games that you really want right now, it's probably best to hold off for a while yet.

I can wait but this seems like a good deal, I'm looking forward to all the Mario games coming to it (no OoT) and some of the games that are already out, I'm just worried I won't be able to get this good of a deal on the 3DS.

The 3DS is definitely cool. The 3D really works, not like that 3D phone crap. But the commercial is definitely false advertising. It's not like a little dancing hologram, it just looks really 3 dimensional and as if it pops out. It has a weird strain on your eyes so you don't want to play it long. I got a headache testing it out at Best Buy so that can be something to watch out for.

The DSi is just fine and it's not like your missing out with the 3DS it's just a lot more expensive for one extra feature. Plus, I heard rumors that the 3DS can't play some DS games so that's something to look into.

I don't really care about the 3D too much, just some of the games, and I'm not worried about being able to play DS games, I have a DS lite for that.

Oh, you wanted that deal? That's a horrible deal. You are saving $50, which is more than made up through trading in your DSi. It's a ripoff
