Any chance the devs will update the game so that shields can

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 2:59 am

to be honest, i am still surprised that the shield stays in my hand the whole game, and i've had the game since release.

That is the way it has always been and I don't see it changing.

EDIT : By always, I mean since Arena.

Could be possible through the tool kit on PC. I've also wanted to put 1h words and shields on my back, especially now since female charcters walk a bit too prissy and their arms clip through any 1h weapon equipped (minus daggers).

Alas, until my budget frees up some and I can afford to upgrade my PC, I'm stuck playing skyrim on the 360. So no modding for me :(

It would be a nice graphical touch to have the shield on your back.

if its been done would you happen to know where?
i reenacted for many years and i can tell you the last thing you want to do is carry your shield on your arm for hours.
a slung shield also gives you a bit of protection from backshots.cheers

Never thought about this.

thanks for that,senor.
looking at it though,he says if you play an archer character you will most likely launch your shield at the enemy!
must admit i quite like that idea,a shield as a missile weapon.fantastic! cheers

May the wind be on your back, but not your shield.

Hey! You are quite welcome. I saw that about the shield launching. I could easily see a character throwing a shield at an enemy.

I have a mod installed that allows your current equipped weapon to be thrown. Nothing says "Take that!" Like a war hammer to the face from 30 feet away.

When Captain Haafingar throws his might shield
All those who chose to oppose his shield must yield!
If he's led to the Dov and duel is due
Then the Fus and the Ro and the Dah'll shine through
When Captain Haafingar throws his mighty shield!!!

Yes it is. It is actually a feature in one of the mods I got from the Nexus. I can't remember which one right off hand. You should be able to search the Nexus site for it or one that does that.

I like how shields are now. I don't want a shield on my back, this isn't WoW.

I don't think anyone was making the mistake that this was WoW, just that they would like to see the sheild placed on your back.

Personally, I wish this would happen. Carrying it around all the time just...Doesn't look right. I always unequip it when I'm not in combat for that reason.

I doubt it will happen. But it would be good if it happened. It kinda make's no sense that it just disappears when you holster your shield.
