Any ideas on how the Snow Elves might be related to Dawnguar

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 7:56 pm

Correct me if I am wrong, but in one of the last updates I believe someone found some codes related to the Snow Elf Prince. At first I thought that Dawnguard was somehow going to be related to the falmer, but after seeing the trailer yesterday, I am a bit confused as to whether they will play a role in this DLC or not. My theory is that they will be again related in some way to the elder scroll, but that's just a hunch. Any ideas?

falmer do have screw eyes. mabye the vampire are interested in falmer for some reason?

also you do stab a falmer in the neck in the trailer, so for sure the snow elf prince should be in the DLC

Probably related in some way to retrieving the Elder Scroll seen in the trailer (it is a different one, than is used in Skyrim proper).

They could've stabbed anything in the neck in the trailer, but it was a Falmer. That has to mean something.

Just looking forward to new content of any kind! Been too long since I've run into something new in Skyrim.

That seems logical. To be honest their inclusion if true, would had to be very relevant because otherwise they would be screwing what I consider a very interesting plot, that could had made an entire dlc. Dunno about you but I always found dwemer and snow elves to be very interesting.

Was hoping for a full DLC dedicated to them but since the trailer appeared and the whole vampire thingy erupted I wonder what their purpose will be.
It's almost certain that they will play a role since code was found regarding the "snow prince elf" and also crossbows (and I believe vampires/feeding animations) and since the latest will be present it's possible that they also will be?
Specially since in the trailer we saw a falmer being stabbed in the neck and also a falmer hut in a cave or something similar proving that in the new zone/content they will be present.

Curious to see how vampires, falmer and "snow princes" will match together :)

Perhaps they need ancient magic only the falmer knew about to block out the sun or do whatever it is they plan on doing

Now that I think about it, Falmer do prefer dark places (due to their lack of vision) right? If so, wouldn't they benefit from a world without sun?

I think there are still things in this DLC we don't know. Some of those things Bethesda will discuss at E3. Other things they will not discuss until release. I still think that the Snow Elves and Snow Elf Prince will play a role in this story based on the DLC01 files in the 1.5 patch. I'm not sure yet what role they will play, but I still think they will play an interesting role.

That's what I was thinking as well. Maybe they've reached an agreement with the vampires to provide their forces once the sun is gone and they gain an advantage over the surfacers. Maybe they're planning an invasion of the surface world that would certainly be easier with vampiric allies and eternal darkness.

Indeed, if this is true, the plot for this dlc is even more interesting than what I thought.

Didn't they already explain the disappearance of the Dwemer was the result of them successfully unmaking themselves from all existence with the heart of Lorkhan?

Definitely, would make things far more interesting.

I'd love to see some talking Falmer NPCs, at least if you're on the vampire side, who could tell us more about their motivations assuming they can still communicate. And maybe some battlecries while fighting them as the Dawnguard :). It was annoying that the main game made them a generic Goblinoid creature enemy rather than an anguished ancient elven race of former slaves. I'd imagine some might still be capable of speech (they seem to have some semblance of a culture down in the depths with armor, domesticated Charrus and huts), unless the vampires are controlling them completely and that's the only reason for their cooperation.

There are falmer in the trailer, as well a karstaag like frost giant. I think it's safe to say they're in.

I completely agree with you, I definitely want to see more of the falmer and hopefully learn a bit more of them :)

If the Falmer do have lines, I prefer it to be like the giants and draugr: in their native tongue. That way I can go "I don't know what he said but I don't think it was a good thing... I think I'll just quietly slink away now.... AH! CHARUS!! Kill it with fire! ...... Hope they didn't hear that."

Is not about whether they are in it or not, is about their importance or relevance towards the story.

This post somehow reminded me of my first encounters with the Elite back in Halo 1 XD!

Well we don't know anything about the story as it hasn't been released so there is nothing else really to say.
