Any info on a patch that will fix stuttering?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:44 am

So it's been 6 days since the last patch I have checked around on the interwebz and seen nothing in the works... So When are we going to fix this graphics stutter? "More info coming soon..." soon like Duke Nukem soon? Still cannot play this pile of garbage with all the fixes put out by the PLAYERS...

I want to know an ETA on another patch as well so I can stop using this dll user-fix.

Not to mention the long list of bugs//script issues being discovered by the user. Hell I used another user-fix just to fix the caravan problem with cards stayin in your inventory.

That's 2 user fixes on 2 major issues that obsidian has yet to hotfix with a patch. So much for their "speedy" patch fixes.

If you're using a 64-bit OS, you might want to try this: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35262

While it fixed my stuttering, now there's a lag whenever I exit barter dialogues. Still worth it.

I just encountered the stuttering when encountering a group of Fiends.

The game froze for 2 minutes before it got moving again. I had to bring up the task manager to check that it was still running.

i really really hope so, it's almost as if the developers are just acting like the bugs and graphics stutter dont exist. if you look at the main page of obsidian.net it has a list of all the video game mags ratings 9.5/10 9/10 9/10 and so on. i cant even rate the game because i cannot even play it on my gtx 480 :(. this has been most upsetting and saddening, i waited years for new vegas. and im not holding my breath, this last driver update from nvidia makes it seem like wer're getting closer cuz it did help a little, but nvidia can only do so much, its up to the developers. i got a special bud in a little jar saved specifically for the day fallout new vegas becomes playable. i hope that day is soon.

I'm playing on a Win 7 65-bit system with a 1Gb GTX 260 and am hoping a fix for this performance issue around NPCs arrives soon too. That d3d9.dll does work, providing a noticeable improvement but I'd rather not have this hack as it appears to me to affect the quality of the shaders. I suspect the problem itself may lie with poor shader programming.

I couldn't agree more with you guys! I'm afraid to enter large settlements because of the lag that will not doubt show up. But i can't find one single article even acknowledging that this is a problem. and to think i had a PS3 copy in my hand and got a PC version instead.

Don't expect a real PC patch anytime soon. The game is so massive fixing all these issues will take some time. I'm sure a game play fix (patch) will be released for the consoles before the PC. And with DLC content being released for the box (exclusively) in December I would think priorities are elsewhere for the developers at this time. I'd like to eat my words but realistically speaking PC gamers will be waiting a long time for a real patch.

They will never fix the frameskipping and or stuttering as it's been happening since the oblivion days and the devs are too f'ing lazy to fix it
