Any noteworthy side quests?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:06 am

I've completed all the guilds, storylines, and Daedric quests (except for the Stormcloaks, I've got to do another run through for that) and I'm looking for any particularly noteworthy side quests that I can check out. Most of the ones I've found have been simple fetch quests and don't really strike my fancy. Are there any good ones that have an interesting reward, story, dungeon, or anything like that? I just learned about "Rise in the East" and I've got to go do that one.

The Grunewail quest or something

You randomly get it, and a guy with a red and blue face pops up out of no where then says "come with me"

And you sink through the ground, then you appear in a place full of fire and he says you can leave if you survive my tests

BEST QUEST EVER!!!!!!!!!

City quests. Each major city has a big quest with many steps and unexpected twists. I highly recommend doing those, as they're arguably amongst the best stories Skyrim has to offer, namely Markarth stands out in particular. Don't expect extreme depths of story, like I said, they're just among the best stories compared to what Skyrim offers. In my opinion, may I stress. Also, Solitude quests are cool, if you read the whole Wolf Queen series beforehand.

I dont think naming intresting quests would be spoilery, as longg as you dont go into detail, but to be safe

Spoiler
The Man Who Cried Wolf/Wolf Queen Awakened
Forsworn Conspiracy/No One Escapes Cidhna Mine

What do you mean by city quests? The ones the Jarls give you?

The quest in centered in Markarth. I forgot what it was called.
Spoiler
It was where you investigated all over Markarth and you were arrested by corrupt guards and put into Cidna Mine where you have to escape and ask people "What are you in for?"

Though i love Skyrim's side quests, I find that the dungeons have WAY better stories to them.

For aesthetic reasons I really like the quest dealing with the mystical tree in whiterun. I think you get the quest from the lady in the temple. But I think she was sitting at the bench under the dead tree when I got the quest. It's a truly beautiful quest.

Just be careful with Forsworn Conspiracy/No One Escapes Cidhna Mine. It is buggy as hell according to the UESP. And it may interfere with your ability to buy a house. I have been avioding it for this reason.

I recommend the drunken quest a night to remember, I think it can be found in the pub in Markarth or thereabouts.

Frostflow Lighthouse. Located west of Winterhold, it's pretty easy to find. Really cool quest. Especially if you got one-shotted by a member of one of the involved parties in the wilds beforehand. I was seriously contemplating whether I should proceed with it or not at that moment.

I don't think that's correct. I've had it start in 3 cities (Riften, Whiterun and Markath) From what i can gather, Sam appears when you enter a tavern at a specific level. the tavern can be in any city, it just depends.

Oh, whoops. My fault then, sorry. I should've looked it up more.
