Any one change their Primary Class?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:17 am

So i went into the game thinking that i would be a Light oprative sneaky kinda guy/sniper. When i actually played i noticed that when I changed to a Enjineer i had way more fun with the sniper because i could just buff my own damage and get OHK on a medium body type! Anyone else do anything similar?

I knew I wanted to be medic. And with the long wait for others to show up and do their job, I put a huge smile on someones face when I am right there only seconds after they go down.

I'm still running my main as a soldier, but as I gain ranks I'm still trying to decide what his back up class will be.

I stand by an early belief that the Engineer and Op are far more neccesary on the whole than either mdic or (and especially) soldier.

I never really decided on a class to play before release, but the class I least expected to play was Engineer. Guess what I play as now lol; that's right, Engineer.

Medic/engi with a sniper and a the Euston with drum mags and a grenade launcher. Its godly. I can't wait for heavy turrets and I might make better use of the barnett.

I started Medic and I have not changed. I enjoy reviving downed enemies and I have unlocked the self revive ability so its fun to go down and the enemy walk away only to get shot in the back as you stand back up.

Soldier main is still a go, and then a medic when there are too many soldiers. There's never too many medics, because over half of them in any given game our out solely to keep their own hp topped off. For some reason soldiers are more willing to part with there pips, course between scavenge and the fact they can distribute ammo at a range as opposed to point blank, I can see why.

Then I realized buffing someone's HP was really just wasting a pip. It's like... 2 shots from an SMG, one from an AR. Sure, that matters, but then getting them back into the fight ASAP makes better use of that pip.

I was expecting a ton of operatives, instead I see mostly soldiers. Must be ammo counts are too low unless you're a soldier.

I knew what I wanted from the start, a Soldier with a Medic class backup. That way I have ammo when I need it, and a quick fix for self revives if I get fed up with the wait time for a revive syringe.

I'm still a Medic---otherwise, I wouldn't have any moronic AI teammate bots left, lol! :D
Sometimes, I actually have to switch my class during the mission because my teammate bot was....well, moronic at times, hee.

But, yes, I always loved being a Medic---and it's kind of required with my hilariously idiotic AI teammates rushing into rooms full of enemies. ;)

I went in thinking I'd be an engineer, and after a few hours played, I still like engineer best. Finding out I could give my teammates armor in addition to weapon buffs was like an early birthday present. My biggest problem is remembering not to dump my entire supply meter at spawn buffing allies, so that I'll have some supplies left to build turrets and deploy mines.

I did buy a couple of medic abilities, chiefly because I'm the type to go medic if no one else does. And I've played a couple of games where no one else did. But any time my team doesn't stack engineer, I'm going to be an engineer.

I disagree entirely with the soldier part. With how little ammo guns have, you'll be wasting a lot of time running to command stations or dying without ammo resupplies. I can't stand playing other classes unless I know there's a good soldier on my team. Soldiers who don't resupply their team are worthless though.

I have found a way to negate the ammo crysis though, When you go to a command post and just quickly use it, you get full ammo. If you want to stay in the fight i reccomend maybe having a friend and do a soldier medic combo, i have found this VERY EFFECTIVE. :brokencomputer: :user:

i started out wanting to be a medium soldier, and am now a light engineer with a CARB-9 and Belgo. I have lots of fun using my speed and abilities to change the flow of battle.

P.S. the CRB-9 is a BAMF SMG

Yeah. I had a lot of fun with the engineer, but I find that on Xbox everyone wants to be an engineer for some reason. May be to buff their own damage? :-P But I went from a hybrid engineer/operative build to a dedicated light soldier build and it's so much fun. Molotavs, boosted armour, ammo, and flash bangs. It's a real pain for the enemy. Scored a bit over 5k, too, with the most points in the game by far. And here I thought the Soldier was going to be bland :-P

Gotta keep your team alive. I found a combo that gives me 7 pips when I respawn and they fill faster. Mix that with some other medic abilities and you have your whole team up and plenty of pips to spare. (assuming you want the laz nade)

Well, the nature of the game, for me, on single player, kinda forces me to class change. I love being an operative, personally. Taking some one's face, finding a nice, lone heavy who's unsuspecting, bashing them and blasting them into the ground before he knows what happened... Throwing caltrops in major passages/routs, the "oh so" uneffective sticky that i've never seen detonate, but is still a delight to see the guy run away once he realizes he's got one on him. Turning ones own turret against them, making their well placed turret into a well placed hazard... Oh, and we cant forget my favorite... the "laugh out loud" cortex bomb... Oh my. Get gunned down, think they won, then suddenly, BANG!!!! 3 guys down or dead.

Alas... theres a problem... As, you see, Operatives, have no place here in Brink, on the Ark... Save the handful of "hack" missions, they have literally no purpose twords the completion of goals. This is exceedingly disapointing for me, since for me, being an operative is a dastardly delight... Fits my style perfectly. If i go an entire game w/o switching from operative, i will get very high marks. I'm talking 7-8k averages. Of all the classes, i'm BY FAR the most effective with the operative. But, that said, i cant BE an operative and still succeed at Brink. The nature forces you to class change, and my secondary class is the Engineer.

I dont even like being an engineer. Well, not a terrible lot anyway. Turret placement is wacky, they should highlight where you can place the damn thing, because i spend too much time trying to figure out WHERE the thing can go... That prompts me to make a new thread... hmm...
