Any Other Lockpick Trainers Other Than The Thieves Guild?

Excuse me?

Could anyone help me with a little bit of advice please?
I'm trying to level my lockpicking skills. Right now it's only 24, and I've been looking for a trainer to help me level it up more.
As far I'm aware, there only appears to be one trainer for that - Vex at the thieves guild in Riften.
I've been in there to do an errand or 2 for those guys already, (I'm trying to work towards eventually getting the very special lockpick I've heard about which doesn't break, I don't recall its name) And I spoke to Vex, being a trainer of lockpicking.
But he won't sell me anymore points in lockpicking.

I am skilled enough with apprentice locks, but I want to gain the next step, which I think is novice locks, right?

I've found that the way this game works when you want to level your skills with trainers, that if you can't gain anymore skills with one trainer, then you have to go to another city and get them there.

Also, I can't gain anymore archery skills with Niruin at the thieves guild, (which I also have points in) so I think I get them from a guy in Whiterun or Winterhold right now. (don't remember correctly)

BUT..... it seems to me that there is only one locksmith trainer in this game. Is this really the case, or can I find another locksmith somewhere else? Does Anyone know please?

(( None of the percs in the Lock Picking tree are worth wasting a perc on, and really that's the only reason to have the number "high" as lock picking, as it was in OB, is a piece of piss! ))

it goes novice - apprentice - adept - expert - master

you can only train five times per level, so you need to level up before vex will train you any more - shes the best lockpicking trainer in the game, and will train you up to 90, but only 5 times per level. The Khajit trainers are only expert, so can only train you to 75.

Thank you for the very helpful replies guys.

I'm not quite sure what these khajit caravans look like. Would anyone mind giving me a brief description please?

@ "Aphnaea"

That was a very informative explanation and has helped me to better understand how to level lockpicking (and probably other skills in the game too as they are levelled in the same way I think) Thanks for that.

I'm just wondering though, if I can get 1 level of lockpicking from the khajit, then go back to Vex and get more levels there. would that work perhaps?
Otherwise, I can train the skill by picking locks until I get a level up in that skill. I have plenty of lockpicks anyway.

5 Training Levels per character level, it does not matter who provides the training.

Also, just so you know, lockpicking failure increases your experience, so you can break a bunch of picks trying a lock and get skill ups.

Khajiit caravans are a little group of Khajiit (usually 3 of them) that wander from city to city selling stuff. They camp outside the gates, since theyre not welcome inside.

If you already have access to Vex, theres no need to find the Khajiit. As I said, she will train you 5 times each time your character goes up a level. If youve already trained five times, going to a different trainer wont help, they already know youve had 5 training sessions this level. Once your character levels up, you can get another 5 levels from Vex, or any other trainer. Lockpicking is a pretty easy skill to level up anyway, especailly if you have heaps of picks. The Thieves Guild has a room with locked chests you can use to practice. Its a training room off the cistern.

Good to know since I cheat and give myself the Skeleton Key. It does pop and resets the mini-game if you don't give yourself the perk so hopefully that counts too.
