As I first entered the game with my character I was quick to level sneak and illusion to accompany it. My basic killing strategy was to cast a frenzy for a group, let them finish each other off and then backstab the remaining enemy. As I have been progressing in the other magic schools, I grabbed a follower, Stenvar. I now am focusing on destruction and see that Sneak has no more use to me, I do not regret taking sneak up, but I am unsure wether it will be used again.

Basically before I wasn't able to go head on with master difficulty and take a group enemies without tactically approaching, I can now use my skills in destruction as a main source of damage, I am lvl 39.

There is a mod that allows mages to benefit from a sneak attack bonus.

Sounds cool, but I found a solution. I killed Stenvar, my character being evil, took his soul and now am off to pridefully eliminate enemies by my own means, this will influence me to take up the conjuration magic tree, I can utilize all of my old skills so they aren't wasting.

Yep. Sneak goes pretty good with conjuration and illusion.Last I looked, my sneak skill was about the same as my conjuration skill...which is at 92 now.
