Any ways to feed blood on dead corpses rather than sleeping

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 11:57 am

I find it dumb that you can only feed on sleeping people. What about those other dead people vampires kill. Did they feed them while they are sleeping, then kill them and drink more of their blood? Doesnt make sense.

Blood is blood. So shouldnt there be a way for a vampire to feed on dead corpses too? I cant seem to find any sleeping people and getting a follower is no way since they basically screwed the game up.

Can only be done on PC, and can only be done through scripting..and that isn't an easy thing to accomplish for a novice scripter. Although I guess it's as simple as swapping out the conditions for werewolf feeding and swapping that in the vampire feeding script.

Obviously you are a PC player. There was a person working on a vampire mod, and alot of their work involved revamping the vampire script. Think it was Draeka..probably spelled that wrong. You can ask about how to do this in the CK forum if you really want this in your game.

Side note, I tried circumventing the dragon soul absorb thing through the werewolf script, and having it where I could absorb the souls of actors that are already dead(werewolf feed script is the go-to script because actors have to be dead to feed on them). Was the most frustrating thing I ever attempted to accomplish in my life. And I failed, but I don't give a [censored] anymore lol.

it's kind of silly that a vampire is unable to feed off of a recently killed enemy. especially given that werewolves and namira followers have no problem feasting on the flesh of the dead. their blood is somehow rendered useless 10 seconds after they die?

you should also be able to sneak up behind anyone you desire and feed from them. sure it would incur a bounty, and others would attack you that witness it, but i've never seen any form of vampire portrayed (even the twinkie sparkling ones) that only feed on the sleeping.

1. There are many vampire mods that do this.

2. Bethesda's vampire implementation is a half-baked port from Oblivion.

Did you not pay attention to Lestat from Interview with a Vampire, vampires do not drink from the dead.

Except that the ones in Elder Scrolls do because every vampire I have met is telling me that they will feast on my blood, while trying to kill me.

That makes as much sense as dunking your donuts in a bucket of blood. Not an action that results in anyone getting a good meal, unless you are a vampire who isn't picky about food.

I was kidding, but in the book, and movie, vampires cannot drink blood from dead animals or humans because it does something to them that is bad I can't remember except in the movie when Claudia tricks him into drinking dead blood he acts really weird like he is growing weak and stuff.

To feed on dead corpses, complete Namira's Daedric Quest and wear the Ring of Namira to feast. You don't have to be a vampire to do this.

Those that feed on the dead are ghouls. It is a distinction of Vampires that they forgo consuming death. The blood does not flow in the dead (and In the Vampire Chronicles feeding on the dead causes a form of coma and wasting away), so blood is not blood.
If you have Vampires feeding on corpses then they are not much different to werewolves and the cannibal-ghouls of Markarth. The whole point of many of the Vampiric Powers are to be able to prey on the living and depart without the victim ever knowing they were fed upon. Vampires consume life, not death (which is why my Vampire character is a vegetarian :P ).

So did you pay attention? Because vampires can feed on recently killed people just not on long dead bodies as far as i can remember. As logicaly victim can die during the feed and the vampire still can keep feeding.

Also it's not Interview with a Vampire it's TES and there are many vampire settings that vampires can even feed from blood bags: Like "Vampires the Masquerade" which is arguably "the" best vampire setting.

Over the years the whole vampire legend has been generally bent over a desk and given a good seeing to by any number of people.
Fundamentally vampires only feed from the blood of a living person, not a dead one. As has been pointed out previously if you feed off of the blood of a corpse you are not a vampire, at least not for very long.
The "Blood Bag" thing is something that's been brought is simply a device to be used in a plot, for whatever reason. The blood itself is still "dead" and therefore couldn't be used, if one were being entirely accurate.

Fundamentally? "Vampire can't feed on corpses" isn't a fundamental rule that shared by majority of the vampire setting, in truth it's quote the opposite. Even then that rule is never includes fresh killed victims since otherwise would be sily as a vampire can't drink more than victim's half of the blood(as she's dead already.) and even Lestat drinks blood from a glass once if i remember correct.

That was a plot hole because he is not suppose to be able to do that.

It's fairly impractical to extract blood without a pulse.

Also, if Molag Bal wants vampires to only gain sustenance from blood of the living, then that's how it is.

You're making it up right? I'm almost sure that vampires on that setting could feed on people recently died. Lestat falls into the trap because he led to believe the boys were died "recently" while in truth they're dead for hours.

Also there is no lore material on TES vampires that they can't feed from fresh corpses. It's a gameplay feature and a poor one why people try to defend it is beyond me.

There's also no lore that states that they can. Assuming either to be true would be just that - an assumption.

No I am not because in the movie Claudia makes Lestat think the two boys are drunk, and passed out when they were dead.

Realistically? Blood clots, so after a while it won't be svckable. As far as svcking blood through your canine teeth is possible anyway, lol. They're designed to hold steady the prey and nothing more.

Canonically (aka according to tes lore)? What I've gathered from the books, vampires always attack people when they're alive. I've never read anything about them killing the prey first, and svcking the blood afterwards.

In the fantasy genre? Way too many deviations to set a general rule to it. Unless you start from the origin (well, kinda. At least from the vampire as we know it in modern times), which is Dracula from Bram Stoker.
