Anybody makes up titles for their characters?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:25 am

My female main character has the tile ''moon mistress''. It fits her well because she is a heavy armored dual sword fighter, and offcourse her mysterious and dark appearance.
Now i only need to get ebony armor and weapons and it will truly fit the title.

Mine's just "The Blind Breton". He was born blind, so he has developed his other senses over years which has enabled him to be both a competent swordsman and an excellent archer.

Not really, though I usually have an alternative title based on the "trade" my character have. For example some of my characters may refer to themselves as Crusaders. Battlemages, Rogues, Warriors etc.

Since I donned my thief character in full glass armour and an axe when doing civil war quests I sometimes called him the "Knighthief"

Do you add these titles to your characters name or do you add them in your head? :)

It would be cool if we could earn a title that is added to your name...right now ulfric has given me the name "ice veins" but i like stone heart better

In my head, for RP
I do agree with your idea though.

I usually give them some sort of title or description in their name. My conjuration/illusion mage's name is Raspy the Mad, my assasin's name is Evil Dan, and my rightous mace-wielding Imperial's name is, well I can't print it here. :D

I have a blind Breton named Deimos as seen in my avatar.

If I were to give Deimos a title Deimos "The Knowledge Weaver". He's more of an archeologist. In High Rock when he was a young lad he joined the mage's guild, however, he did not like the politics involved and he did not find the answers he was looking for. So he left for knowledge that could answer his questions. Unlike your character, Deimos is pulled by the invisible strings of magic.

Word Walls I always assumed they had some sort of magical content to them. All beings have an essence as well. And these souls and the ancient magic are pulling him along so he sees the word through this magical sensation. And when I say see he doesn't actually see like the Daredevil, he does not see silhouettes and see people. He feels so he sees.

Like how someone whom would be blind would feel a cart at the grocery market and they would "see" the cart.

My third character (newly created) is a buff, two handed Nord, with long, blonde, hair and a beard with a leaf-shaped tattoo. I'm not sure if he's going to be an actual "Dovakiin" (As in not do the MQ). He'll be a werewolf but will not feed on human flesh (because he think it all goes to the same stomach [does it?]). Finally his name is Bothbar goat-bane... the first think he killed when he became a true warrior was a goat, hence the title.
Personally I thnik its fun to have wierd character names/titles.

My healer refuses to use her Altmeri name, and goes by a name that translates to 'White Witch of the Glade'.

Holy Paladin of the Empire. Wears a full set of Steel Plate, uses ebony sword and shield (for no particular reason except higher damage and armor. And there's no steel plate swords or shields)
Fargeth the Destroyer. Destruction Mage Altmer.

I recently made a Breton alteration/conjeration mage called Ruit.
Due to his back story I've given him, as well as the amazing feat of being 10 levels in and not dying once, I've grown the calling him The Survivor.

Rarely, like Tdroid I usually give my characters titles based on their archetype. Although, sometimes I give them titles from other games.

For example: Ma'riiq, Infiltrator, Khajiit, Lv.23.

My vampire Breton is an agent sent by the Cyrodilic Vampyrum Order to establish influence in politics and to push the Empire into victory. He goes by Lord Herrick. The Lord bit is in my head for rp purposes.

My Dunmer mage's persistent skepticism reminds me of the Pyrrhonians, who sometimes called themselves 'zetetics' (meaning 'seekers'), so when she's being particularly inquisitive I'll refer to her affectionately as 'my little Zetetic'. As for my Breton vampire, it amuses me to stress the 'Lady' in 'Lady Gemma' since between her flagrant cruelty and bouts of cannibalism she's everything but. And then there's Era, whose name is a kind of title in and of itself. She had a dream a while back - a vision, you could say - in which a voice told her that she was 'the harbinger of the new era'. Upon awakening, she discarded her birth name and began to identify simply with 'Era'. She's the only character I play as the Dragonborn, so that sort of destiny-related gobbledygook suits her.

I just look up some words from old collegiate dictionaries,Brittanica world language or theasaurus from the 1960s and 70s combining them into names with meanings that go well together. You would be surprise what wonderful old stuff you can get at thrift shops for a dollar ninety nine or less :)
