Is anyone else as disgusted as I am?

What's there to be disgusted about? It's not like the fact that the story ends the game restricts players from doing what they want.

Indeed. If anything, this game boasts FAR more player freedom than Fallout 3. One example of this is the ability to kill everyone in the game (except one?) except for kids, which is a nice contrast.

I know, I agree with you.

It's the fact that Fallout 3's ending came to mind when I read "definitive ending."

I know, I realize this now. You have to realize that when I read "definitive ending" the first thing that came to mind was Fallout 3's ending. I agree that a proper and satisfying ending could be just fine.

Alright well then there is no reason to let this continue then, Mr.Axe you should request a mod to lock this so that no one gives you any more "crap"

That sounds like a good idea. But this is my first day here, I don't know any of the mod's names or how to reach them.

The great thing about a story is an ending.. Let's just hope it's a good ending! Yeah running around after your main quest could be fun, but I found (especially after broken steel) the world a bit empty beside the exploration.. and hey I can explore the rest of the world from a previous savegame with a story that has a closed ending,

I am not mad at all, that's what they do for Fallout 3 if you don't have the Broken Steel add-on. And, it's what most games do anyway.

Click on one of the report buttons and when you send the report just type "As the original poster of this thread I would like it to be locked."

You have to admit it is slightly a let-down that you can't continue on though.

Well no, not for me.
I like the ending sliders, they sum up what happens after the main quest.
No need to continue on.
It's like this, I play Saints Row 2 right, then when I beat the main quest I continue playing, but there's no satisfaction to be had.
Sure I could go around doing challenges and searching for the collectibles but there is no real sense of purpose for it.
Since there is no main story or any story for that matter to follow up on it's like watching a comedy show where they just sit in front of the telly and don't speak to each other.
Pointless IMO.
But that's just me.

Name not needed- just hit the "Report" button at bottom-left of your original post, and that'll let you use "the hotline" to drop'em a "please close my thread" note. :)

Hot topics are hot.
Let's see how you feel after release.

Closed per OP's request...which he more than likely requested because the rest of you could not calmly explain things instead of treating him like an alien in FO. Shame on you folks.
