He's an incredibly dull character to talk to, he attacks Legion on sight making him worthless for Legion playthroughs and his "Spotter" perk makes the game look like a mess.

Boone is one of my favorite companions, I do not think he is crap

It may look like a mess, but it fulfills it's purpose beautifully and is very useful. That, I think, is much more important.

I get annoyed that he can never hit a target and always gets killed by Deathclaw. I gave him an Assault Carbine with plenty of ammo, he uses a friggin' 9mm pistol and dies every 3 seconds.

Because you'd be a cheerfull happy go lucky person if you had to :tops:

I like Boone, and I LOVE the spotter perk.

An Assault Carbine isn't that great of a weapon, let him keep his hunting rifle or give him a sniper rifle. He's a sniper not a grunt. He'll get headshots left and right.

I don't care for his combat abilities, but he is very lame to have hanging around. Even on a pro-NCR playthrough I only keep him until I feel strong enough to rescue Raul.

Veronica and Raul are awesome

Boone is my favorite follower and because of that I never wanted to play a legion play-through. but my current play-through I am legion and I have discovered that Arcade(until he leaves) and Veronica are awesome. But about Boone I never gave him any new weapon and he always rocked in combat especially when fighting the legion.

Raul = The God of NV Companions

I like all the humanoid companions, except Arcade Gannon who is a pathetic excuse to our glorious cause.

IMO Boone is a good fighter and has some melee skills too. When it comes to gunning down stuff I go with Raul and his vaquiero skills.

Good as a sniper, crap (in my opinion) as a companion.

I love Boone, I like that he doesn't talk too much and you have to actually try to figure out what's going on in his head to be able to start his quests. He won't just take you there the way most of them will. He's also AWESOME with his gun, his perk helps me a buttload (because I do love my AM and sniper rifles) and if he DID ever decide to over exersise his vocal chords, let's just say I wouldn't be the first to complain. Mmmhm.

It could be that Boone was forced to wear a skirt as a child, and he's been 'processing his issues' ever since.

Carla, Jeannie-May, all of the Legion... if someone's in a skirt, they're doomed.

Boone and EDE you got the best sniper combo ever and in my opinion boones quest is pretty cool and the spotter perk is actually very helpful if you snipe not run in and gun. on a side note Raul i always find very annoying since he's always depressed seeming and yeah arcade im just like give me the key to the bunker and give me my enclave armor

I like his spotter perk, I don't care about his conversational abilities, and the Legion svcks. That's my opinion. Boone's alright.

Throw Pushy on her and she'll single-handedly take out 2 deathclaws before kicking the dust (In reinforced leather armor).

Do you know his backstory?

He is an Ex-NCR 1st Recon Sharpshooter who has had a pretty bad experience with the Legion.

If you get and complete his quest you'll understand all about him and you'll feel sorry for the guy, guranteed.



That's basically it.

Boone is my absolute favorite companion in F:NV (Veronica always got in the way of my gun and had that annoying hood, Raul always complained about his knees but other than that was a close second, Lily yelled to much to be stealthy and basically charged foward while she was walking, Cass was pretty good but wasn't very accuarate, Arcade svcks in combat, ED-E is a robot so obviously wouldn't be a deep companion, and Rex is decent but gets in front of my shot like Veronica), on my first playthrough I only left him just long enough to get all of the other companions.

When I had him I felt like I was on a team, he really has your back unlike the others.

Of coarse Him with arguably the best conventional ammo'd weapon in the game is better than Veronica and probably every other NPC...But if you even want a challenge at all, then dont give boone the AMR...But if its a cake walk you want...then by all means give it to him...

dont get me wrong, I do like Boone for NCR

But I like Veronica better..Also enjoy Cass (just wish every word out of her mouth wasnt "I need a drink". Needs more idle dialogue), and Canineasaurus-REX!

I never cared for Boone. He picked fights with Khans and unloaded on Tabitha after I had repaired her bot and got her thanks. I usually do the sniping myself so Boone is not that big a deal imo. I haven't played with Raul or Arcade yet but Cass is a decent shooty companion although I still prefer Veronica! :thumbsup:
