I've never really seen this show, what makes it similar? Is it the wild west theme?

It's definately the Music that gives the firefly feel.

the music has it, that sort of old west foreign planet feel, the wild country with roaming psychos (reavers), and the sort of tongue in cheek humor that can be found when you look deep enough. If only the story was as good as the narrative in Firefly... if only....

This makes me want to watch Firefly. I get a bit of Firefly vibe in the game. If it had more hustle and bustle of people walking around and street vendors and aircraft ports then it would be A LOT more like it.
