I realized while I was playing skyrim today the daedric artifacts aren't quite as powerful as they were in skyrim I just find myself using my own crafted armors and weapons. Anyone else a little disappointed with the artifacts in skyrim?

Most daedric artifacts can be easily surpassed with you own crafted/enchanted equipment. It svcks to be honest and mainly has to do with the artifacts not being upgradable or they are not assign a material ebony, daedric, etc.

I believe they could have been a little more... Rewarding?
Some of them I'm happy with, such as the Ebony Blade, and Mehrunes' Razor.
But, I believe things like, the Ring Of Hircine should have just an added magic effect where instead of putting on the ring and having to use the "Ring Of Hircine" power, you should have had the "Blessing of Hircine" ability or something, which has the same effect, but it would have been easier.
Artifacts like the "Azura's Star" and "The Black Star" are really helpfull, but they've been used too many times now, perhaps change was needed to make the quests more rewarding.

They could have been better. The reason I like them so much is they're aesthetically different to other things, but yes they aren't that powerful.

I think the Rueful Axe needs to be seriously upgraded as far as power. Because its weaker and slower than most higher level Axes

It isn't really a Daedric artefact though. Just an alternate reward.

Not upgradeable? I was able to smith Molag Bol's mace but my work on it did not benefit from any perks I had unlocked, hence, I could only upgrade it so far and it was indeed still less than what I could smith with, say, ebony. That being said it is a very powerful mace due to its special attribites (soul trap, etc)
