Anyone else playing on Expert?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 7:20 am

I found Adept too easy, so I up'd the ante. Anyone else do the same?

At least I warmed myself up for dieing alot since i played Dark Souls to pass time until Skyrim came out.

I played Expert on my Breton deathknight for a few early levels then turned it up to Master. Now I just play master, because its harder and more fun for me.

Played on masters for awhile but I got tired of boss battles always being one hit deaths to me while it took 50 hits to them to kill them (this is before I knew smithing and enchanting "imbalance)

I play on Expert with most builds, Adept with the weaker ones.

I could do Master probably, but it wouldn't be that fun for me.

I play on Apprentice. No sh*t.

By about level 10-15 some of my characters have started getting 2/3 shotted by enemy archers at that dfficulty. My fully armoured Nord warrior can take a couple more hits. I think this is quite realistic, although it still takes a few more hits than I'd like to take down enemies.

The higher difficulties I'm sure I could still "beat the game", but it would mean at best an unenjoyable hack, slash, block, run for cover, heal and repeat about fifteen times just to kill a bandit. At worst it would mean repeated deaths just to clear a dungeon. I'm happier with it this way. But to each his own. Unfortunately the level scaling for me seems to constantly make things harder as I level up instead of easier. It wasn't done very well in Skyrim.

My roommate plays on expert(and he did that from the beginning - that's from the first minute he laid his hands on the game) and now on master. Let me tell you, I hear a LOT of curse-words that I dare not reproduce.
I go for Adept(a little bit of expert on my sword and shield character). It's the sweet spot for me. I have enough stress in my life, thank you, and Adept (for me) is the perfect balance between not being too easy and not too stressful. I still can get 1-shot on my pure mage character(only cloth) even on Adept by those pesky Overlords.

Yes, I started on Adept but then bumped it up to Expert about when I reached lvl. 30. I'm playing a Breton as well, specializing in conjuration and destruction. I can pretty easily get killed in one hit (wearing robes), but enemies don't tend to get that close.

I go from adept to expert, after playing for awhile I start to get tired and just want to do my objective and get done with a quest so I'll turn it down.

Cheers

I do. I think it's a good balance.

Not exactly Demon Souls/Dark Souls difficulty though... I like that, but I'm a little relieved Skyrim isn't like that. I like to stop and smell the roses sometimes.

I play my imperial assassin on expert, doesn't seem to be much of a difference in gameplay though from adept to master almost. It's pretty much I kill something before it sees me or I die. And dragons take 5 minutes to kill or 30. A very stale 30 minutes of arrow shooting from behind a should be burned down by now wooden house

Playing on expert since the beginning and am late 30s now.. makes the game exciting as there is very little margin for error in combat.

I was on Adept for the first 5 levels until I started again, I then ramped things up to Master after clearing 'Unbound' on my 2nd character.

It's still too easy, although some dragons, bosses and groups do take me a few attempts to clear.

For me, playing on any other difficulty simply negates the use of poisons, potions, strategy, and even blocking. My blocking and heavy armour skill-ups were non-existant on Adept.

My thoughts exactly, and once I hit lvl 50 I stopped using a companion.

I played an adept character to 20 and I felt it was too easy. I'm now 44 and on master and its much much better! Sometimes I even purposely fight in worse gear to make it more challenging :). It's really all up to you!

I tried playing on Expert on my thief.

A bandit chief saw me from 300 yards off, jogged at me faster than I could sprint, and smacked my ass down in two hits.

I tried Master on my Bosmer. Ran into a blood dragon. I shot at him while he was hovering over a fairly large Forsworn camp, which aggro'd EVERY SINGLE MOTHER [censored] FORSWORN IN THE [censored] VICINITY. Which was, I dunno, about A [censored] METRIC [censored]-TON OF FORSWORN.

I won.

I play on Expert, it's more fun and less one hit kills against lower enemys.

Does anyone play on expert difficulty with a pure destruction mage (only robes and spells?)

I have a pretty hard time getting by on adept..

Playing on expert makes it a bit more challenging and doesn't eliminate the fun by any means for me.
