Anyone else thing the DB armor svcks?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 4:12 am

I was hoping that the DB armor this go around would be more suited to the environment and look less like a comic book characters outfit. Maybe some fur linings and a little bit more bulk would have made it look less like something Deadpool or Spiderman would wear and more like something an assassin in a cold environment would wear. Not to mention how goofy the cowl looks on a male character.

I like it, I just wish the face mask would work on my Imperial character. But I've got the Cicero clothes now with better bonuses and of course those look more ridiculous so....meh.

Cicero's clothes are jesters clothes, they're supposed to look ridiculous. I was just hoping for something more along the lines of like a black version of Linwe's armor with some fur linings or something, that looks much more assassin..y than the DB armor.

Personally I think the Nightingale armour would look better as the Dark Brotherhood's armour; it's darker and more typical of an assassin's clothes. Having an assassin wearing a bright red skin-tight suit just doesn't feel right. Also, I think that it doesn't really fit with the aesthetic of the game. The bonuses are good though :3

it's better than Oblivions, but could have been much better. At the very least it needs a cloak.

There are mods for the DB assassin armor. I rather liked the DB armor personally. Try out some of the mods for DB armor, they are cool...

I like it. It accentuates Astrid's curves very nicely.

I think it's rather hideous. I only use the Ancient Boots and Ancient Gloves. With the proper smithing 100 + smithing enhancement gear you can get it to epic level which is good and can be very helpful going through Dwemer ruins after level 45.

I love the way it looks, I just wish we could smith the enchantable worn shroud armor.

It's not as silly as the Nightingale gimp suit. But I love the way that you can walk around in broad daylight wearing the DB kit and no-one comments. I'm told there is a comment from the guards about TG gear though, but I've never heard it. My main gripe with the DB kit though is the enchanments, particularly the body. Poison resistance? Why? There's only about two things which use poison attacks, so that's a pointless enchantment, and on my list for the CK. The annoyance is doubled by the fact that if you use Light armour you really need the "Same Set" perk, so it's all or nothing.

It looks too much like bondage gear. It looks better on woman than man. It's like latex and fits too snugly.

Deadpool is exactly what the armor reminds me of. It's really pretty ridiculous. The Pentius Occulatus (sp? Lol) armor looks much more like an assassin's garb. Bright red jump suit doesn't really scream stealth to me.

And the hood is hideous. Why can't it be in the same style as the mage's hoods? The light armor cowls are just awful

I found something better and replaced mine. Astrid's not showing off anymore, but the suits look a lot better.

There's also a non-replacer version.
