I used to use the Animation Shop and stuff like that WAAYYY back in the day, but I know they prolly charge now for it. Is there any good programs out there that can resize images for you, and won't chop up or blur the image?

There are plenty that will properly re-size an image. A decent all-around photo editor that's free is harder. Have you tried http://www.gimp.org/?

GIMP is pretty hefty just for a simple quality resize. Irfanview would be a much better idea. It's a great image viewer, and can properly resize things without making them look horrible like MS Paint does.

I agree, but I've always despised Irfanview's UI. :sick: Besides, if you're like me, resizing often leads to other things.

Wait, I didn't intend that to read like innuendo.

The default icon is absolutely terrible too. I really wish it came with better icons than it did for when you create file associations, I had to go with the panda because whatever that red thing is was embarrassing my monitor.

Despite this I still use it for my default image viewer, it loads fast and has a lot more tools for editing pictures compared with the MS equivalent. The batch processing is also really useful when you need it.

You can try http://www.getpaint.net/. I would not recommend it for making an image bigger than the original, but it'll work fine if you just want to make it smaller.

I would recommend the already suggested GIMP. It comes with a good bit of features for a free download.

Another recommendation for Paint.net, especially if you're used to Adobe Photoshop's GUI. I had trouble getting the hang of GIMP. But, if this is your first time using a software program like this, then I'd say go with GIMP, because it is very powerful. If I knew how to use it, I'd still be making retex mods for TESIII, like what I used to do when I had access to Photoshop CS3.
