Anyone know a good way to level distruction?

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 3:40 pm

I'm a little dissapointed I can't use trainers after skill level 90 (if I'm mistaken please correct me) it feels like leveling distruction from 90 to 100 is taking forever mainly because you need to seek out and kill things and I'm running out of things to kill. Iv tried just beating the living sh*t out of an invincable NPC but that takes a long time too. I'm really looking forward to getting master level spells but it takes a sold hour per each skill level.

If you havent done it yet at least a bard quest gives a lvl in destruction, have you also already used the Oghma Infinium?

use the conjuration spell where you summon the familiar/wolf and use 'wall of flame/fire' or whatever its called to increase destruction skill. i used this to get up to 100. u can do this anywhere but i like to hang out in the archmages room and do it.

People have levelled their offensive skills to 100 on that imperial/stormcloak dude that helps you escape Helgen, so you don't have to cast on hostile targets.
I'm guessing you could zap Shadowmere if you wanted to cheese it ^_^

Yeah I realized that its kind of helpful to not have read every skill-book in the game when your skills were relatively low. That +1 at 95 is a lot more valuable than it was at 19.

it doesn't need to be hostile. just conjure a wolf, firewall at it and kill it. do this repeatedly and your destruction skill will go up. i used this to get me from 94 to 100, it was taking ages otherwise, going out looking for dungeons etc. try it.

You can train after 90 but it has to be with the Master trainer. Each skill has 1 master trainer that you can train to max level with, and the Destruction one is Faralda at the College of Winterhold.

I didn't have any trouble leveling destruction. Because I just blasted away at everything that attacked me. Got to 100 destruction with no training well before any of my other skills were even at 50...

Faralda appears to cap at 90 for me at least.

That's weird, all the other skill trainers I trained with were able to get me past 90. Bug maybe?

Or I might just be mistaken. I'll double-check to avoid adding to the confusion over real vs perceived bugs. Ah yeah something had changed my effective destruction skill (boosted) so she stopped letting me train because my effective skill was 100 while the actual skill value was 90. I don't know where or what that buff came from, but after waiting it went away and I could train again.
