I use the paper map instead of the in-game-map. It's really enjoying to look at the landscape around you and then the map to figure out where you are going.
I have, I actually use it and not the in-game map when possible.
I really don't like Google Nirn.
Aye, a proper map in-game would done wonders, like a digital version of the paper map in-game would probably help a lot, specially at night when the map too dark to make out anything but markers.
I have several that I use for different things. One marks all Dragon encounters (didn't expect it to get so full). One has all the friendly settlements. And one keeps track of cool locations be it a view or a the local atmosphere.
