Anyway to kill Esben and what's-her-face of the Blades?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 7:48 am

First of all, they got a lot of nerve ordering me to do anything! I'm demi-god, damn it! I've read an Elder Scroll!

Not to mention they are suppose to be my sworn servants and protectors. But to give me an ultimatum - to Kill Parthy?!! They've gone to far. And must die.I trust Parthy more then these two fanatics.

I'd rather not use a console command. i want the pleasure of killing them myself. Anyone know of mod?

Thanks...

Not that I'm aware of, but it is well aware that they are both a**holes and roughly 80% of Skyrim players would like them dead.

Lol, I swear.. I like Paarthurnax myself and can see many reasons to side with them, but some of you people who side with him make no sense. It's always the same argument: "I'm the dragonborn biyatch!!" expecting everyone to serve you, else you go on a murderous rampage... Except, the whole point of siding with the Greybeards is that you've chosen to not desire power. Did you not play the game at all or pay attention to any quest dialogue? Did you take a break and walk away whenever Arngier spoke to you?

Lol, it's not even just the people who side with the Greybeards dude. I hate Delphine and Esbern for losing track of who they really are and giving me the orders. I have the blood of Akatosh in me, making me the rightful heir to the throne. And yet the blades sworn to serve me give me the ultimatum. Lol, how did this get flipped around?

I liked Pathnx, but not enough to go out and start human genocide. Now, Muiri is a completely different story.

It's a dilemma the writers *I think* intentionally place you in. Delphine is the one who supports fighting, making use of power, etc.. The Greybeards say power has been the downfall of other dragonborn before you... and even get mad that you'd want power to take down Alduin. That's how extreme they are. Yet, the whole irony is that you sort of have to take some crap if you side with the Blades. And on the Greybeard side, you feel like you need to flex some sense of power to defend Paarthurnax.

Eh, I just don't like how the blades in Oblivion kick a** and the ones in here are a**es that need to be kicked. I like how that fell together. :P

I like them... maybe because I like the actors already, from other movies. They are weakened though, but I don't blame that on them. Looks like they put up a good fight over the years. It's just meant to convey how dangerous the Thalmor are supposed to be, I guess.

Which is why the Stormcloak rebellion is stupid because it weakens an already weak Skyrim ripe for the taking by the Aldmeri Dominion, but I digress. Another time, another thread.

Perhaps you don't speak english as a native language. To "put up a good fight" is an expression. It doesn't mean you fought amazingly badass or anything. It means you fought till the bitter end. Which is what the Blades apparently have done. Like you said, they got annilihated.

The Thalmor wield some pretty good magic, case-in-point Ancano.

I'm a Thalmor sympathiser, but I reckon blades will do lot a good serving their new Dragonborn Altmer lord, and will help Summerset become the Empire that surpasses the Cyrodil Empire. They might even help the mers venture in to the land of the Akaviri. I think they may been put their, to hint at the fact in a Nordcentric theme, that a Nord dragonborn who embraces them will become the greatest leader that tamriel ever had, as Talos did with them.

As cool as that would be for you, I think you'll get railroaded into never actualizing "Thalmor sympathy".

Maybe I'm wrong though. You can do one quest for Ondelemar, I guess. Maybe they'll expand on that.

I swear, I'll quit all TES games if they do that again. It worked somewhat before, but now... we play a character entrenched in even more "global" prophetic events. Not to mention the history of previous dragonborn in general. There's got to be more to it than just riding off into the sunset like Clint Eastwood.

I think a lot of people forget that the Blades or the original blades were a descendent of Akaviris and have their blood mixed in them. If the blades go, then so does the bloodline of Akaviri in Tamriel. I think they'll make a come back in one form or another.

I killed him to serve justice. He admits to his evil nature and his crimes of the past, which makes it as good as a confession.

There are quite a few threads about Paarthurnax. Almost every 2 days does a new one start. Most players can not get it over their hearts to kill it.

Most interesting argument I have seen so far is that the Greybeards, who right now cannot care for themselves and need others to carry food up the hill for them, are obsessed with Paarthurnax and with the power of voice and will ultimately become the next dragon worshipers like the dragon priests before them.

No they wont, seeing as how they do not worship the dragons at all, just Paarthurnax. And the fact that they are completely pacifistic, whereas the dragon priests ruled with an iron fist and dominated the human population for the dragons.
