The closest thing I could get to the Dunwich Building is either Vault 34, Silver Peak Mine, and Dead wind cavern

I wonder are there any lovecraft references in fallout new vegas? I know its bethesda's thing not really obsidian but just asking because the dunwich building is based on his work.

I did vault 22 tonight... rather spooky inside. It probably took me well over an hour to clear the entire thing and work through the mini-storyline. But I tend to be slow and methodical.

Vault 34 is scary, but not in the same way as Dunwich.

The closest you're going to go it Vault 11. It doesn't have the supernatural elements of the Dunwich Building, but I think that's what it makes it even more creepy. Wonderfully designed, like Dunwich. I assure you you'll come out horrified yet amazed.

Vault 34 is the one full of radiation?

That wasn't even half as scary as Dunwich, it wasn't even as scary as Point Lookout!

I have yet to run across a truly haunting place in New Vegas.

Vault 22 isn't really that scary, just take along a shotgun or smg.

Guns 50+ and 12ga Shotgun (in good repair) is plenty for Vault 22. A 10mm SMG or 9mm SMG spray-n-pray weapon is recommended for some other portions.

At level 25, the vault was a bit of a pushover, but still moody and spooky.

It was sooo good that they need to make a quest in DLC to get people's attention?

And with no choice about the Ghoul at the end of it?

And no trophy item if I destroy the damn book?

No, nowhere in New Vegas have something like that.

Don't know the works of H.P.Lovecraft so I didn’t get the reference, but i love the short unique sequence where all the sudden you see the past of the building in warm sunny day, just to flash back in a second to the ghul. One of the few things I really liked in F3.

Vault 34 or Dunwich, to me both weren't really scary. Vault 34 prominent sound of the door which tries to close but couldn’t is kind of haunting though.

It's not much like Dunwich, but Camp Searchlight is quite fun to sneak through, especially since the Ghouls wear armour and use knives. Plus, there are plenty of buildings to mess around in, a nice pseudo-plot, and a cool green light filter.
