Apparently it's impossible for me to complete this game.

Playing on the Steam version, level 28 character. I went through a bunch of quests to prepare to help the NCR take the dam. Only to discover that Colonel Moore has disappeared. I have completed "You'll See It When It Happens."

Also, Crocker, to my knowledge has not offered the "Kings Gambit" quest.

It would seem I'm [censored] as hell. I can't do "Kings Gambit," and I can't do any of Colonel Moore's sidequests. Also, I've tried going to general what's his [censored], and I can't find him either. So out of curiosity, I ask: Did Bethesda or Obsidian playtest this game at all?

Be happy you're on PC. You can fix it.

You can find the characters reference ID, then place them beside you.

Lets see where Moore (Ref ID:1206fe) got to first. Type the following into the console. (~ key = console)

player.moveto 1206fe

And see where you end up.

Let us/me know and we'll go from there.

While your Help is most appreciated. ..

There is not a valid excuse for substandard programming and quality control. It is the very reason why I have shelved Fallout New Vegas as Unplayble - even after 3 patches. Can I have my $50.00 US back until Fallout New Vegas gets fixed ???

No, so, good thing their on PC so they can actually try and get their moneys worth by fixing it themselves. Should they care to try.

Should they have to? No, but they can if they like.

Missing NPC's is pretty minor when one is on the PC. (Annoying, but minor.) I do feel for the console players but this is why I do not buy console versions of these games. (Gamebryo engine games.) I know better.

Anyway, OP, if you want to try I'm happy to help get you sorted.

In the same boat as you. I was just about to start the last mission, updated to 1.2, ran into more bugs in 30 minutes than the last 10 years of PC gaming, and shelved it next to Alpha Protocol on the shelf of bad ideas I've made. Maybe I should have learned my lesson earlier when it comes to Obsidian.

I tried player.moveto 1206fe. It took me to the helipad on top of the dam. The one where President Kimball exits his aircraft.

I also used the console to move myself to Oliver, which seemed to start the Legion assault and then the game crashed. Mayhaps because I hadn't done a pre-requisite for this quest?

And no Moore?

Ok, lets move Moore to you, making sure you are where Moore should be first. (The same cell.)

Prid 1206fe [Enter]
Moveto player [Enter]

Did Moore appear? If so does the dialogue work for the quest you are doing? (If not, it gets more complicated from here.)

P.S.

You can also use:

Prid 1206fe [Enter]
placeatme [Enter]

At least I believe that's it. I can't check yet as my game is still installing.

She's still not there. I also found out the command is "player.placeatme ." X being a number I don't know how to find. I learned this from the wiki on Ambassador Crocker.

Damn. Ok, lets go through the whole deal and see if it works.

prid 1206fe [Enter]
kill [Enter]
resurrect [Enter]
disable [Enter]
enable [Enter]

Now go see if she is where she should be.

Using the kill command gave me infamy with the NCR, which wouldn't be a big deal if it put her where she was supposed to be. It simply brought me back to the helipad.

If she only appears after the kings gambit quest, that would be a problem. As Crocker never gave that quest to me after I completed the quest involving the Boomers.

That is odd! The console should bypass any in-game rep. It's the game killing her not your character. *scratches head*

I'm not familiar with the quest line as I have yet to do it. Frankly I am stumped and not sure what to suggest from here. If you gained access to her, you could have used the quest line flags in the console to move her dialogue to the proper point in time but it seems there is more going on here than just a missing person.

Sorry, I don't know what to suggest now. Maybe someone else can take over from here who has better knowledge of the quest line and what is supposed to be happening here.

I wish you the best of luck.
