ApplyHavokImulse - Can it work on the player?

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 2:01 am

I'm thinking of adding a spell malfunction table to some of my spells...ApplyHavokImpulse would be a lot more precise if you want to toss the player around with a backfire...is there a way to do this? I notice a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwLzIPkrQIE function...but it doesn't say exactly what using it does..http://www.creationkit.com/ForceAddRagdollToWorld_-_ObjectReference- guess I can give it a shot (Literally)

Nope, doesn't work, even with a ridiculous amount of force...guess I'll have to try to make some sort of "Fus Roh Dah" cannon to knock the player back...

If http://www.creationkit.com/ApplyHavokImpulse_-_ObjectReference doesn't work, have you tried http://www.creationkit.com/PushActorAway_-_ObjectReference?

If it helps, looking at the script for the Unrelenting Force shout it seems to use http://www.creationkit.com/PushActorAway_-_ObjectReference

EDIT: Never mind.

Gonna try that next...a lot less precise though, you can't give it vectors, just an object and an amount of force...guess I'll have to fiddle with positioning that second object just right to get the player to fly away from what he's shooting at. (Destruction spells with recoil...bwahaaaa!)

Well that was fun...Got it (sort of) working...however, I also found what could be considered a bug...I made the mistake of setting the value way too high the first time, and it sent me waaaaaay up in the air ( you know, like the giants' "Bang, Zoom! To the Moon!")

Well just to play around with that, I toggled invulnerability on, and discovered...Invulnerability is relative, aparently...It still kills you about half the time if you do a high fall like that.
