Archmage robes & circlet has become Archmage robes OR ci

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 5:12 pm

Over the last few days, I have noticed that if I remove either my Archmage robes or my circlet of enormous magicka (or whatever it's called), I am unable to put them both back on again - it's one or the other. I suspect it's not a coincidence that this has happened in the same weekend when I've finally dipped my toes in the water of modding - I've currently got the following mods going:

- Bound pickaxe
- The dragonborn song version by that pretty lady off YouTube
- the console fix for Lydia to use the bows I give her
- the one where she can sit down or even sleep when I'm resting
- no more blocky faces
- realistic water
- weapons and armour fixes

and, if it's relevant, I have installed the more complex needs mod, but it is not active (rapidly got fed up of that one).

Any suggestions?

Yes, disable your mods.

Disable all of your mods, launch the game and see if things are back to normal. If they are, re-enable the mods one at a time, starting the game to see if the robes and circlet work like they should each time you enable a mod. When they stop working right, you've found your culprit. Disable that mod, or if it's one you really want to use, send the mod creator a message telling him/her about the problem, and ask if there is a fix.

I guess I'm stuck with that, Gator Country. I was just hoping this was a known problem and some whizzkid might be able to tell me which 3 keys to press to solve it instantly. Thanks anyway.

You don't ask, you don't get. Had to be worth a try.

Well, you do mention that one or more of your mods are "weapons and armor fixes." Those might be the best place to start, particularly the armor mod(s).
